A dumb question of minimal importance

From the main forum page, under General Tool Discussion. If the most recent topic is “I love bench grinders”, if I click on General tool discussion, it opens the forum and sure enough, the bench grinder thread is listed as the most recent thread, or if I had clicked on the bench grinder thread name displayed under General Tool Discussion, it would bring me directly to that thread.
However, on occasion under General Tool Discussion it lists “show off your new tool arrivals”. If I click the thread name it brings me to that thread. However, if I click General Tool Discussion it opens the forum but the thread is not there.
Is this voodoo magic?

Other threads opened in the tab in the interim. Look at the timeline- many threads open in a very short time & the thread you saw is the discussion tab is way down the list.

Actually this is not the case. I have come across this on three separate occasions since posting this, and have verified that the refreshed General Tool Discussion on the main forum page shows “Show your new tool arrivals” as having been posted to in the past few minutes and immediately clicking on General Tool Discussion shows topics that were posted to much longer ago, with “Show your new tool arrivals” not being found on the first three or four pages. I refresh both pages to confirm.
There is something different about that particular thread.
