Living in texas it's nice to have cold water to drink in the garage, even when the AC is on. Grandpaw always had one of these in his shop and I always made good use of it. But which one?

That one looked good, but then I saw the weak 90 day warranty. Three months goes by and it's screw you buddy, call the appliance repair man! Which seldom pans out, they just charge you a bunch of money for you to find out it's cheaper to buy a new appliance.

Is there a good brand with a good reputation and a decent warranty? Thanks!

the one that is like Grandpa's. It will be the one that hits home every time you use it.

Top feed, IMO. I've had the bottom loads, you have a pump to fail and harder to clean. Gravity never failed and the old school top loads, I swear get colder.

It's long gone so I'd be guessing as to which one it was. And I'd be trying to find one that was from the... I dunno, 1960's, 70's, or maybe 80's. I do remember it was top feed though.

I think I'm probably stuck with a modern one, and it looks like they're mostly chinese. Not just made in china, chinese companies.

A top loader with the spike in the center is what I would do. Bet you can find a used one on CL/FBMP for under $50

Probably, but my brand new bottom loader one died after 3 years. Guess you can't complain for $50, but I'd also like to avoid wasting the $50

Was hoping someone here knew of the top brand, if such a thing exists.

What do the bottle providers use for their leased machines? They have a strong incentive to use good quality equipment.

Looks like they send you over to the company they "recommend" and you're still responsible for everything. Just like if you bought it at home depot. Which I'd be fine with if they had a decent warranty.

Might just buy one from home depot and buy their little extended warranty.

Don't buy the warranty. It almost certainly won't benefit you

Rather than a water cooler, I'd be tempted to have a refrigerator instead. You could keep a pitcher or jug of water in it, there'll also be a place for other cold items or drinks, plus you could get one that has an ice maker if you like.

True. You can buy those "college room size" ones for pretty inexpensive. And having other cold drinks in there is an added plus.
