Hello everyone. I'm hoping someone can assist me in obtaining an owner's manual (paper or on-line) on a recently acquired drill press. Drill press has been sitting idle in the basement of a home whose husband had passed away 10 years ago and the widow finally wanted it removed. I gave her $200 which included a whole bunch of drill bits. Drill press has 1/2 inch capacity, mfg date of 1979, floor model. It is very similar to Harbor Freight models but this particular drill press has two pulleys and not three. Upon checking on-line this particular drill press was manufactured under numerous names. Any comments on quality, repairs, etc. are highly appreciated. I'm trying to get as much info as possible on this press. I thank you in advance and hope the photos show up ok. Stanley

I bought a Duracraft DP500 a few weeks ago. After many hours of searching for a manual and parts list, the best I could find (well, for free) was a series of nine .jpg (picture) files, which I'm attaching to perhaps help others.

Thank you! I've owned a DP-514 for like 12 years now and randomly decided to find the manual for it. Sure, whateg01, they're not that complicated, but having a manual to read is helpful.

Great pictures in the manual. My problem is the chuck came off. it is a 1983 model.i thought it has a screw that holds the chuck in place.after looking at the shaft end,it is not threaded. any suggestions.

Generally only hand drills use a screw to retain the chuck. On a drill press, the chuck is attached purely by friction (for the most part). Clean the taper on the chuck and the drill press, and then slam the chuck back up into the drill press.

Add some blackboard chalk to the taper, first. That helps the chuck to stay put. Check for any burrs on the taper section and remove.

Thank you so much for responding, the shaft is galled and so I am going to file it. Chalk is a great idea. I will give it a try. :)
