Mine is about at nose level for me so need to stand on tip toes to see into here. As such and since the lid is never closed it has become a catch all wasteland.
I'm thinking of building a step in front of the stack to make this more accessible but then I'd need a "junk drawer" elsewhere.

I can see into the top of this 26” triple stack, it’s only about 65” tall. The problem is that I can’t open the top fully, and it doesn’t even stay as open as it can be, without the help of the cord. So it’s a real waste land indeed. I have no idea what is in there, and I’m not sure if I want to know. IMG_5115.jpeg

Mine is about the same as the OP. The top is always open and it's full of dust and disorganized stuff. If I did it all over again, I would get two lower roll-arounds instead of a vertical stack.

I have two stacks, the 25 year old one in my picture above, and a much newer one from Menards. The craftsman has a lip at the top to hold atool tray I have never used. The Menards box is a shelf. It’s an inch higher, but it’s quite usable. It’s still a mess, but it’s a mess that I know what is there, some where.

I have never been a fan of working on a toolbox, so going vertical with tool storage saves space.

No way. The top bin is not to be seen by anyone. All the other drawers are fine- just not the top bin. Who keeps it clean?

Just a basic box with expanded metal for the bottom On some 26” drawer extensions.

That’s really cool! I had to zoom in to understand what you did. Sadly if I had that modification there is no room to the side for the sliding shelf to move over to.
