Well I did a search, and couldnt pull anything up on them. Lowes has a 3 ton jacks for $100.00 and 3 ton jack stands for $35.00. Seems like a decent deal, but didnt know if anyone knew anything about them or had any experience with them, opinions, etc.

Also found this link http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=89476-33680-G-593JS&lpage=none Which is the 3 ton jack and jackstands for $99.97 but havent seen that at the stores. Think they'll honor their online price at a retail store? Thanks

I think I have the same Kobalt Jack you are talking about. I have used it a half dozen times since July when I bought it with great results. No complaints so far. It has a nice 2 cylinder type design in that it lifts quickly to get up to the car then switches to more powerful cylinder to lift the car. It does take a little more effort to lift with then I was used to with my old jack not a deal breaker but it takes some oomph. Jack stands are of decent quality as well. Seems like it should all last a good while. I think I bought the combo deal you show online at the store when I got mine in July. At this point I would buy it again if I was in the market, time will tell if it holds up.

I bought a few of these back when they had the jack and stands for 79.00. The jacks lasted two years in a commercial shop. IMO they are a good jack. I'm not sure if they carry the same jack even though it looks similar. The front wheels on mine were wider. The next time I went back to get some they didn't carry them which leaves me to beleive they changed manafactuer.

I bought a Kobalt jack a year ago or so. First one leaked oil all over the floor within a short time. I took it back and got another and that one failed on the first attempt to use it. In other words, it didn't get the car up one time! I learned a valuable lesson right there - you get what you pay for, and especially when it comes to jacks.

YeP... Its just like any other Import Jack, Its not the Jack design but more importantly the Seals used. Ive said it a Thousand times, Dont fall in love with the Color scheme/Stickers on these Imports. They dont mean "Jack" (lol) .... And with some research you can probably find the same identical jack for Less money at another Big Box store.

Edit: Lemme say that im not condoning all Import jacks as Junk, I have been perfectly clear in the past and backed up my statements with Pictures etc.. The most important thing about buying a Import jack today is 1. Keep your receipt 2. Dont overpay for Color/sticker unless the warranty dictates.

The 3-ton Kobalt looks like a nice jack, as do the jackstands. On the site I see they have a Koblt 2 1/4 for $39.00 that looks exactly like my $19.99 special (branded Pro-Lift). I can't even remember where I got it. Maybe Agri-Supply, or maybe Wal-Mart. I don't remember. That wouldn't be such a good deal.

On the subject, honestly, these little cheapie jacks have done a great job for me. $20 for the Pro-Lift (red lift pad) as i said, and $10 for the Torin (yellow handle) on clearance at Wal-Mart. At first glance they look like they are the same jack, but they are made differently - but similar for sure.

I would like to have a heavier jack, and that 3-ton Kobalt might do the trick. Thanks for the head's up.

Stopped by Lowe's last night. They didn't even have one out of the box on display. I did find "Made in China" on the box though.

Since Made in USA is rare, the Chinese should study up on Taiwan. My Taiwanese 2.5T floor jack lasted about ten years and I used it a lot, I would say heavy use for a home hobbiest including rotating the tires on all my vehicles including 3/4T Dodge Cummins 4x4's.

I have had two Chinese 3-4T jacks in two years that are piles of ****.

I googled that jack and that's not a bad price. Can't find but one review and it's not too good. Maybe I'll consider it though. From one worn out old man to another, THANK YOU SIR
