Spent the day out in the shop today trying to finish an old project.
Todays focus was to get the suspension under this old carnival ride and convert it to a pedal car.
I took some parts out of an old rusty pedal car to use for my project and with a few new brackets I've managed to get the pedals mounted. I'm going to have to rework the original rear axle to get the swing action into it but that's tomorrows project

This thing was a pig when I started it last year

All is coming along nicely, Don. Anything new with your health situation or are you just "keep on, keeping on on?!"
Nothing new. The Dr said to just wait it out and it will correct itself in 3 to 6 months. The eyelid will start opening first then the eye should correct itself after. The eyelid does start to open a bit with some effort on my part. So i'll not worry about it just go about my business as usual. The down side is things aren't where i first grab them they seem to be a few inches further away

Just went through your thread here. Great job!
Sorry to hear about the health issues, but glad you're on the mend.
Lol, I've had a couple of strokes and 2 heart attacks Im only 62, but so far no permanent damage. Still enjoy wrenching, party's in my shop and driving fast. I did switch from cigarettes to cigars about 10 yrs ago and am pretty healthy now. I am blessed.

The weather has been a bit crazy around here lately. Winds and heavy rain has caused several of our trees to brake. Several of our avocado trees lost branches and we gathered hundreds of avocados and distributed them around town.
Then the big one was a huge limb hanging over the neighbors garage. So today I got a couple of friends over to help me solve the problem. I have this old gradall to help with the process of cutting down the broken limb

Problem solved and it's raining again

It looks like you live in 100 acres with that huge tree and nothing around. As you know I love your place but even more impressed with the tools and machines and skills you process on stand by in case an issue arises.

Good to see you’re up and moving but sorry to hear your energy was needed for repairs and clean up duties.

Keep up the great fight!!

That Yellow house is my rental property at the east side of our property. We do have several big old trees on the place including the one in my front yard that you might remember

Called it a day a bit early this afternoon. Started out around 7AM loading those smaller tree branches onto my trailer from yesterdays tree events for a trip to the dump next week.

Then went into the shop to assemble the pedal car for the dry run before painting to be sure of all the panel fits and to find anything that I might have missed.
The car is looking pretty good but I did find a few blems that need to be fixed before I paint it.

I’m wondering if the pedal car is going to get the leather interior similar to the el Camino? I still think it would be fun to pedal that through the neighborhood??

It looks awesome as is too. Nice find!!
I was just thinking about the interior this afternoon and I'm thinking that it should get something like my pedal airplane
What’s up with the Impala Don?
I hadn't spent any time with it so I pulled it out to give it a run but it had a few minor problems from old gas sitting in it so I pulled the carb apart and cleaned it up and adjusted the floats now I'm waiting on a detail co. to come and give it a good detail then I'm thinking of listing it. It is a very clean 20,000 mile car and I bought it back in 99 so I've had it for a long time

I remember my grandma driving me to her local grocery store on the freeway at close to 100 mph in that exact white impala and in about 1963 or so (can’t recall the exact year of hers or yours) and I bet she already had 20,000 miles on it then.

Leather in the pedal car has my vote!!
Here is that airplane

Well 16 years ago this month a starved 6 Month old puppy jumped into my truck when I stopped to help her. She turned out to be a great dog partner. As she grew up we wondered what kind of a dog she was. So thin and so ever fast when chasing rabbits or squirrels. They had little chance to get away. So we did her DNA. We thought she was a lab or grey hound but it turned out she was a designer dog, 100% pure bred Doberman and 100% pure pit bull. She was the sweetest dog ever but as time passes we all have to go home and today was her turn. We will miss her dearly and always keep her close to our hearts.
