Got her all back together and took a five-mile test drive. Much better. Second gear, in particular, was difficult to hit before the bushing replacement, now it slides right in. Where I had about three inches of play at the shifter knob when in gear, I now have about a half inch.

Happy.

Cleaned, flung, put away, organized, purged. Repaired headphones for a friend. Added a lifting frame for the laser burner cover. Installed the laser alignment cam. Worked in CAD. Printed filler plugs for the CNC dog crate. Printed little retainer brackets for the cam. Vacuumed.

Damn, you got one hell of a nice set-up there--looking for a husband, by any chance?

In the basement shop and office (where the 3D printer lives).

3D printed a few organizers, as well as a new razor stand for my main razor--which was my great-Grandpa's Gillette from the '50s.

Finally got the replacement handle properly mounted (and wedged) on a Council axe I've had--while older ('70s or '80s I'd guess) they're the only company in my pile still making axes in the US, so I decided to retire one of my True Tempers and the Collins Boys Axe that's my yard work axe.

Now comes the hard part, putting a new bevel and edge on it--as I filed it down to just flat/90 degrees. The old was a wavy and uneven grinder-caused mess that was on it when I found it--and it'll take a while with a file. I may buy one of the Harbor Freight 1x30 sanders for the task- It's still fairly cheap at just over $50--and are often used by hobby knife makers. . Shouldn't make a mess of things, as long as I keep the head cooled.

Having spent over thirty years living in the Intermountain West, I'm aware that winter is never far off. Still haven't put on my summer tires, even 'though we haven't had significant snow in a month or so.

Hell, I've barely used the snowblower this season. I think I used it once.

Gonna be a dry one. I just hope I can gets some dispersed camping in before the forests close.
Probably going to be a ****** fire season

Sat in front of the garage because it was really nice out.

Replaced two cord strain reliefs.

First the framing saw. it took a little finagling to split the case without taking the whole thing apart.
Put the new one on.

There was barely wire coming out of the switch to reattach the power cable.

I used Wago lever locks.

Also made the side edge of the drawer pretty.

I got my other Husky mid boxes and installed them in my "Maximum" (Mastercraft) box. This was a little more of a screw around than doing the red box, but overall I think it was well worth it consider I'm under $300 CAD taxes in (keep in mind that's $215~ US) to add a bunch more space without losing floor space. I had some random brackets from a shelf unit that worked perfect for bolting the backs of them together, and I through bolted them vertically in the front; ol' tug test and she ain't going nowhere. The hutch is pretty high, but I'm going to try not to put much in it from now on out, probably just my bluetooth speaker and some random fluff. Everything now needs to be reorganized, but since my actual shop isn't done, at least half my tools are still in storage and it's hard to effectively do.

Original engine using all factory Ford parts. I did a lot of port work on the engine and put it on the dyno before I installed it. Got 303HP out of the 289.

Wow. And I thought that getting 215hp out of my 289 EYT Interceptor marine conversion was a miracle over the stock 185. If only we had that tech 60 years ago.

Managed to get the fuel filter in my 05 F150 replaced. Holy s*#t those "quick disconnects" are anything but quick to disconnect. Why oh why does there need to a different one on each side of the fuel filter?
They're "quick connects" used because they are faster to connect on the assembly line, 2 different ones keep the brain dead from installing them backwards...........

Amazon didn’t show yesterday so looks like today will be finish off the coolant system of the bronco with the last needed fittings and high temp tubing. Electric fan hooked up too.

Instead I got into the wtf isn’t this and that plug in the shop working….found out a 220 lug in the house main breaker panel was popped out. Fixed that then moved some wires in the sub panel around to for up some breaker slots.

now I got room to add in a second 220 outlet by the man door then reroute the current one up into the attic and down in the adjacent corner beside the steel rack. Since my welder extension cord is 20’ I will be versatile wherever in the garage. Not to mention I now got planned power for another compressor in the back corner.

I stupidly been yapping about extending my current 15 amp perimeter circuit with more plugs……now with the breaker panel clean up I got two slots that I can run 20-30 amp breaker and plugs down each side wall.

Sure can’t wait to run 60amps out there this spring!

Made some progress on the truck. Got the rad support out. It will need some rust attention. Should make engine/ trans install much easier. Had to break out the 1/2" aircat, the 3/8" Craftsman Pro didn't have the required grunt.

Not a lot of tech really. Only "modern" thing I have in the engine that is different from 1964 factory parts is the roller camshaft with 5.0 firing order and the roller rockers. Otherwise it was just tuning. I guess the tech of the dyno helped too.

So, just a carb and points ignition with vacuum advance?

This weekend I decided to move my second Fairlane wagon around and get it parked in front of the garage door. Seeing that in my face all the time will keep me motivated to get back at it.

Then I got back onto stripping down the engine compartment in my Sports Coupe. The belt and fan slung the battery acid everywhere! I'm glad I caught it before much damage was done though. I took the entire front of the engine and belts off, cleaned it and touched up the paint.

While I was there I decided to swap out the AC compressor. So I swapped the clutch pieces over and and painted the old clutch.

Just about ready for reassembly.

Factory Ford Autolite 4100 that got rejetted and the secondary springs adjusted, Pertronics electronic module in the factory distributor (I guess that's modern too), and a factory Ford distributor that I tuned up on my Sun Master distributor machine.

The inlet & the outlet on the fuel filter are the same size & the same length so I do not see how it could stop the filter from being installed backwards.

All the way through and let the acid spray everywhere! Now the engine compartment gets torn down and redone.

I once had the battery break loose and go into the steel, crank-driven fan.

A buddy had a battery explode in a 66 ford PU once. That was a cleanup...

distributor that I tuned up on my Sun Master distributor machine.

This and removing drive gear end play and degreeing in the cam to the crank makes a huge difference in the older engines HP.
