Technically, it only qualifies here if it isn't still in the truck. Sure, the truck is on the road....
The saw was laying on the center line of the road, how it got there and ended up with no damage is surprising. He is always helping people out and does a lot of cutting up trees so glad he found it.

Found an 18v Makita Sawzall with a 5.0 battery in the middle of the road today. Works fine. Guessing it fell off a lawncare or service truck, I didn't see anyone around to return it to.

I'm all Milwaukee so I guess I'll flip this on marketplace for a few dollars

It wasn't recently, but when I bought my Corvair Spyder in Atlanta back in 1980, I found a tire iron on the road. Didn't see it until it kicked up through the floor between my legs. A couple inches to either side it would have impalled me in the leg. I had to pull off the road and muscle it out of the floor pan. I don't remember if I threw it into the car or tossed it to the curb.

Found this Snap On light on the road near me yesterday . I asked the towing company owner nearby if one of his guys lost it, he said he didn’t think so.
There’s another auto repair shop next to him I’ll ask the owner on Monday if one of his guys lost it.

Light is charged and still works but has some
Road rash. I’m not really interested in buying another battery and charger for it. It’s not a LED light.

Today’s road find. Besides the obvious road rash, the handle was broken, the tip was really worn, and it probably wasn’t a quality tool when new.

But I did get an Echo PB403T backpack blower from my mom yesterday. The straps are broken and the air filter was horrible but it came with 3/4 a tank of fuel. It hasn’t been maintained for a few years and probably hasn’t run this season.

A dozen pulls and it runs, but only at idle. Spark plug looked good. I ordered a set of straps, carb, air and fuel filters.

@fourjeepin:

Looks like that screwdriver tried MULTIPLE times to avenge its fate on following vehicles' tires!

No pics of the Echo blower??? Sounds like a great pickup there! I'd definitely be dumping the old fuel, though...

Here’s the backpack blower. I put on new straps to replace the strap and bungee cord that was in place. Also a new spark plug, return fuel line, air filter, fuel filter, and carb plus new gas/oil. But it still wouldn’t run any better it would still only idle.

I’m no expert on small engines but figured I should check the exhaust and boy was it clogged. I cleaned the screen and reassembled but it still has no power. Tonight I removed the screen and spark arrestor from the muffler and cranked it up. It ran for a bit at full throttle. So then I decide to go a bit further and removed the muffler. The muffler and spark arrestor are heavy and caked with thick crud. I think I will replace them before trying anything else.

Looks great!

As for the carbon on the exhaust and poor running, I'm no expert either, so I'd be binge watching YouTube to figure it out.

Remove them and light the carbon buildup on the muffler and spark arrestor on fire with a propane torch. This will burn the carbon out of the muffler. It takes a little while and be sure to shake out any loose stuff.

Thanks! Replacement muffler for this model is >$100 so I dropped it in the parts washer (mineral spirits) a few hours ago. I will let them soak for a day or four then clean them up the best I can before hitting them with the heat.

Moved these out if my car a while back and they just resurfaced.

I followed a trail of lost ratchets toward and on US-41, ending in a 1/4” Kobalt extension. It was worth the effort, but tricky.

Broken no name 3/8 (scrap), 1/2” Hinsdale, Thorsen, and Kal Japan. All with road rash. All three 1/2” work. I’d bet the Hinsdale was bent prior. The Thorsen, built like a tank.

Who was driving these oldies around?

Found a Dewalt 20v LED light in the road.
Picked up a Dewalt 20v angle grinder.

When I was picking up Bagsters for WM somebody threw away a brand-new Porter Cable table saw complete with a owner's manual. I couldn't fit it in the cab of my truck so to the landfill it went.

I found a Proto 1215M-500 combination wrench on the street a few days ago. It's been run over a few times and has a few rust spots from the winter salt, but should clean up well. If it's yours, tell me the initials engraved on it and I'll drop it in the mail.

On a return trip to the house last week I found a pair of 3/8" extensions in the intersection of the last turn. Chrome stuck out on the new pavement. 6 inches long, a pristine Craftsman and a slightly buggered Taiwanese brand. Nothin fancy, but after drawing down my spares to get the nephew started I could use a few extra of these. Free is good!

I found a DeWalt circular saw with a matching carry bag while walking my dog early one morning. If anyone finds my Craftsman Pro 7/16 combo wrench, please let me know, the set just isn’t the same without it.
A tool collection missing just one piece is the hardest set to complete. But keep up the search!
