check with your PoCo first. they may have specific requirements for the meter pan that you have to abide by....

Check with your utility PRIOR to installing.
TIP! You can always buy a "regular" utility approved steel pan then gut it out and get it powder coated for a lasting finish.

Paint them?Looking for a recommendation on an aluminum meter socket combo. I am tired of the powder coated steel versions turning chalky in a couple years when exposed to the weather.
Back when people were painting their houses, meter pans were painted the same color with the same paint and rarely ever a problem. Usually outlasting the needed electrical capacity.
Buy some rattle cans or get a made-to-order color mixed, mask it up and coat it. Scuff and clean the surface first.

Aluminum will oxidize and turn white over time……… Think about it BEFORE you spend the money.
