I have these two Draper branded flat blades which appear to be from the same manufacturer as the green handles ones above. The square shanks are marked "CR-VAN FULLY HARDENED" Mine and the green handled ones are not the same as the yellow handles ones above. On mine and the green ones, there is an obvious reduced diameter to the plastic where the handle enters and striking cap in the handle is ribbed whereas in the yellow handles ones the cap is knurled. So I think that the manufacturer has not yet been identified.

Draper are a big seller of tools in the UK and Europe but they do not manufacture any of the tools that they sell.

The tip of these screw drivers are ground along the edge of the square shank vs perpendicular like the green ones I have. The handle looks to be the same, and the strike cap has the same thread pattern visible through the translucent handle.

TOPTUL makes really nice acetate go thru screwdrivers https://www.toptul.com/en/product-324225/Go-Thru-Phillips-Screwdrivers.html with a really unique handle design. Sadly, since I'm out of that business I don't believe anybody has these available in North America. Currently my opinion of screwdrivers is that on the eight day God created Vessel. Many other quality brands from Europe exist as well but the complete Vessel line is hard to beat.

Sidchrome for me. Serious professional quality and that puts them streets ahead of the next competitor here. I have Vessel screwdrivers as well (not the through tang ones) and I'd rate quality much the same, although the Vessel ones look a lot prettier.

I bought this set close to 20 years ago. They don't get daily use, but certainly regular, and there's no sign of any wear or damage. For really heavy duty use, the Impact Driver in that drawer is the better solution.

As for pricing, I paid a lot more than what they're available for now, which, at $79AUD is about $57USD. That's the effect of competition in the market with chain tool stores springing up all over the place.

Postage from here to the US isn't cheap, but I see that same set on Ebay and some of those sellers would probably have some more attractive postage rates.

for those of you that tried those blue acetate drivers from home depot, how are they doing for you? I have the same thought... don't "need" them but cheap enough and actually look pretty cool.
As for me, well they are basically just like any other typical screwdriver :dunno: handle the same, etc. though the handles on these really allow you to get a good grip when using them.....yes even the small chubby ones too. :ROFLMAO:

Way to go my man! (y)

Like you, I also have a love for tools with acetate handles and have a small collection of them in various tool styles.

Here are a few of what I've got to show, though I still have quite a few more that I just haven't pictured...some from various other manufactures, etc.

Harbor Freight Doyle brand has strike through demolition screwdrivers. I have not used them but they are full tang and look pretty good. They are on sale now.

If I ever have to replace my Wera chiseldriver, that I use for work, I am buying one of those red Vessels. Those are really nice looking.

A Klein reamer has to fit on it and it has to fit inside of my Veto. It may not work.

The only chiseldriver that I really need for work is a beater. Multiple times a week I use them for tightening and loosening locknuts on conduit and a lot of other tasks. For most of my life, I just used a long slotted Klein for as long as it lasted… then bought another when it finally broke too much. The proliferation of tang through screwdrivers changed that.

I am really happy with my Wera, but the colorful acetate ones are better looking.

I find this size Wera to be the perfect option. You just add your conduit reamer to it. The next size up is way too large.IMG_5920.jpeg
