Earlier in the week I went into a HF that did not have the new policy posted. I asked about the large top chest but they were sold out. I bought a roto ratchet on sale with an additional 20% off. Today I was in another HF wo the policy posted. I asked if they had any of the top chests in stock. BINGO!. I said I'll take one and threw down a 20% off coupon expecting to be told no. DIDN'T happen! Clerk asked Manager to sign off on over ride! A few minutes later I was pulling out with a new top chest! $299-20%! $239!!! Woot! :bounce:

Call your store and talk to the manager. I'll bet if it makes the difference between you coming in or staying home, he'll take the coupon.

I stopped by the HF near work, on the way home. I saw the coupon "disclaimers" hung in at least three different places in the store. They have a newer manager there, and she's a beeatch! I asked about the free flashlights and she rudely told me that now they only give away "x" of them weekly, and this week's allowance is gone.

I went to HF today and see no sign anywhere. Don't have a 20% coupon.

I have a coupon in every car, but didn't stop in, so I don't know about the signs, but all my managers are nice.

Pretty sure though coupon do not stack.

My hunch is the locations with the disclaimers are following the rules to the letter. The locations wo are pushing for volume. Who knows, maybe the ones with the disclaimers were going overboard?

I tried last night to use a 20% coupon on a top chest and I got deined. I got what looked liked a well rehearsed reply. As soon as I started to complain about my coupon saying nothing about this new policy the cashier locked up tighter than Fort Knox and turned into a statue until the manager came over. I was handed a card with the number for customer service and was told to call them. Then I proceeded to tell them what I really thought and walked out the door. I called the CS line and I had to leave my name, number, and a brief message...wtf...lol The message said they will contact me within 1 business day. I can't wait to hear what they have to say.

The Fargo ND store has notices posted right on the toolboxes stating that the 20% coupon will not be honored towards them. The same notice mentioned that floor jacks, welders, and a couple other larger items were to be affected too.

If I don't get the answer I want, should I tell them I will contact may lawyers about this. Then see what they say about that.

I think they know no one is going to spend thousands to save at most hundreds. If they get a genuine letter from a law office they would probably negotiate with the one person. Its easier just finding a store not enforcing the new policy.

If anyone who has purchased a 2011 Entertainment book there are Harbor Freight 20% coupons in it and the only exclusions are for Campbell Hausfeld products. I believe under the agreement with Entertainment, Harbor Freight is to honor the coupons as written. The Entertainment coupon book is sold and you pay for the coupons with the understanding that they will be honored as stated. If Harbor Freight does not honor the Entertainment book coupons, then it’s a breach of contract with Entertainment. So if you have the Entertainment coupons and Harbor Freight does not honor them you need to notify Entertainment Publication, LLC.

I was there yesterday and the only spot I saw these signs were on top of the boxes themselves.

While checking out with just a $9 heat gun. The 4 people in front of me were only in for freebies, free rope, free flashlight, free clamp, etc. Both clerks would only let each person use one free coupon. Also one customer asked for a rain check on the free flash light because his coupon expired that day.....sheesh. It's just a cheapo flashlight....

Unfortunately it reads "not valid with other discount". If it is 20% off the full price that is not much of a deal. The super coupons are much lower than that.

I know there are cheaper deals using the super coupons, but my point is HF should not refuse the 20% Entertainment coupons on items such as tool cabinets, compressors, etc. that they are now saying are excluded. In effect HF has changed the terms of agreement on the coupon after it has been published and paid for by consumers.

They can allow them just only on the original price not the sale price.

Based on the previous post of the store policy on coupons, the policy states that the single item purchase coupon can not be used on tool cabinets, generators, compressors, etc. period.

Correct. Some stores continue to do it. I got 20% off a top chest that was already on sale. $299-20%. Woot!

I can see how you think it is a simple policy shift, but this is extremely deceptive on HF's part. HF has printed coupons running into March of 2011 that do not have major use limitations. The new coupon policy invalidates those coupons, despite the fact that these limitation free coupons are in recent circulation AND the limitation free coupons are still available for download on Harbor Freight's website.

The "freebie" coupons say NO PURCHASE REQUIRED. If people are taking excessive advantage of that, HF brought it on themselves. They also continue to publish and host the freebie coupons, despite the stores now being less receptive (rejecting them without purchase) AND having much more limited stock / no stock on the free items. States have laws against that.

This is a company that is taking advantage of its customer base through deceit. Imagine the uproar if a car dealer handed out 20% coupons without limitations and you got to the dealership and found out you were limited to one specific vehicle on the lot.

Everyone that is unhappy with the policy and has been denied a freebie or has been denied the use of a limitation free 20% coupon should contact their state Attorney General's office and / or their state Consumer Board of Protection and make a formal complaint if your state considers HF's current business practices unsavory.

I am glad I picked up my 2 ton aluminum racing jack last month when it was on sale.
The last three times I went into a harbor freight I have come out empty handed. I had a super coupon for a silver tarp but they were out.:(
I feel what they are doing is dishonest, but the only thing I was holding out for was a sale priced service cart.
