Not if you go by the blown up pictures, but it's possible those are out of date.

This has been covered in several threads but if you haven't seen them. The new full-polish wrench sets carry the same part # as the old Craftsman Pro's but are only branded Craftsman. These new sets are definitely made in China, and not the same forging. I was told by a Sears employee (take with a grain of salt) that Craftsman Pro branded tools will be phased out leaving Craftsman as the top of Sears tool line.
Thanks, Dave

Full Polish equals made in China replacements for the CMan Pro wrenches. Remember, the Cross Force wrenches as well as the ratcheting wrenches are now going to offshore production. As far as wrenches go, it seems the only thing staying in the US for now is raised panel.

All of the ratchets; aside from the Evolv line, are still made in USA.... AFAIK. I guess time will tell; if they decide to off shore those as well!

I see that sears.com is now selling full polish wrenches that are not Craftsman Professional, like these sets.

If they are full polish, but not called Professional, does that indicate made in China?

I ordered both of these sets a few days ago when they were on sale. I received the 18 piece set today. Although the package does not say Professional, the wrenches are Professional, made in USA.

The 10 piece set has not been shipped yet. I hope it's USA, too.

Thanks for starting this thread. I was unaware that the Craftsman Pro USA wrenches were going away. I went to my local Sears and noticed that the SAE sets are already gone, replaced by Craftsman full polish wrenches made in China, with the same $99 price tag. They still had two metric 13 piece sets made in USA, so I bought one.
It isn't easy for me to fork over $100 for a set of wrenches that I don't really need, but I have been meaning to replace my old raised panel C-Mans for a while. Well, it's now or never.
I would like to find an SAE set at another Sears store.

That is not true any longer now that those horrid black and silver ratchets and sockets are out.

I too ordered the 18 piece and the 10 piece set last week when they were on sale. I got them today and both sets say professional and U.S.A. They look like vary nice wrenches to me.

This may be a sales tactic for Sears, Throw some China wrenches out there and everyone scambles to buy the USA versions. I bet the sales of the pro wrenches have increased by 1000% since the China connection. Smart move on sears part if thats the case

I purchased both of these sets, also on sale and both my sets are USA. I fortunately, unfortunately for my wallet, have 3 Sears within a few miles of where I live, and another 2 on my way home from work. Tonight I picked up both 5 piece sets of the offset box end wrenches. I was in Sears over the weekend and noticed that the SAE set they had on the rack did not say USA, on the back side it said China, the set sitting behind it was the last USA set they had. All 3 metric sets were still USA. I didn't want to spend $50 a set on wrenches, but when I got home they were only $41.99 on-line, then there was the 10% off, and a couple of on-line coupons, but I was afraid they'd give me the China set. So I called, talked to a nice guy in the tools department, he went over to the rack, pulled the USA set for me, so now I have both shiny new sets in my toolbox. Did I need them? Not really, I had 2 Husky Chinese sets from HD, but I wanted them. I am stating to think I need an intervention and you guys are certainly not helping.

When Sears goes full china mode they will loose what the had a good low cost supplier of mostly US tools and will fade away. Why pay for high cost china tools when they are nothing special what a shame

I wonder what Sears' books look like.

If they sell 100 Gearwrench sets for every Craftsman set they sell, it's no wonder they let the US stock dry out in favor of imported replacements.

Maybe, maybe not. people largely buy craftsman tools for the price and the warranty. As long as the new PRC made tools have the same warranty, people will buy them. I'm curious as to what Sears' cost is on the PRC made polished wrench sets versus the older Armstrong made pro versions. I'm sure they are at least doubling their money with the PRC made sets.
