Toro is not owned by Briggs and Stratton. Briggs does own Ferris, as well as simplicity and snapper
I just bought some parts for my Ferris from the local dealer and the parts have Briggs & Stratton on the tag, I questioned the parts guy and he told me Briggs bought them and also owned what I thought he said Toro.
So I just looked it up, Briggs sold Ferris the a private equity group in 2020.

I missed that they sold, looks like simplicity was the one that really got the shaft, MTD bought it.

I was all set to get my Scag in the shop this week and check out a Liberty Z, only to find out the business was closed for their yearly one week shut down (aka vacation).

The grass was way too tall to let it go any longer, so after some quick but in depth research I went out and bought a new Exmark this morning.

Exmark Radius S-Series with a Kawasaki FR691 and a 48” deck. I mowed this afternoon and was impressed with my purchase. Only time will tell, but it seems like a solid, well built unit.

There’s no hurry now, but I still plan to get the Scag fixed.

I've sold Exmark, Deere, Kubota, Bad Boy, Hustler, Scotts, Sabre, Grasshopper, and 2 other brands that no longer exist.

If I were buying today, I'd buy Kubota-but I wouldn't buy it at river valley tractor.

I have a Kubota tractor that I bought new in ’04. It’s been good to me. The dealer is about 9 miles away. It’s a pretty big outfit.

I have 2 excellent mower shops that are less than a mile from my house. I decided to keep the money in the neighborhood. Both are family owned and operated.
