Do you need them? are they any good? are they worth it??? I don't know, but if you were interested in them this is a great price vs the regular $170 on Tekton, who really does not do sales. Amazon has ok prices on the individuals with coupons as well.

Note I bought a set at $105 last night so there is a chance this is one of their price algorithm drops that will keep rising with the next purchases, but i would have expected a bigger jump after buying one set.

Those look like my Halder Drop-Mallets and since they're labeled made in Germany, I presume Halder makes these for Tekton.

I'm quite happy with my Halders so I would say these are a good buy at that price.

Yeah I found just one on home depot and it was only mildly helpful https://www.homedepot.com/p/TEKTON-44-oz-Drop-Mallet-HWH22144/339480919

Looks like home Depot also has the same price on the 4 pc set

I wonder if Amazon dropped the price due to HD. That seems like ridiculous amount of those for HD to have in their warehouse, and maybe they dropped their price, however there's no indication of a price drop from HD.

There are a few other tekton items that seem to match Amazon and home depot prices vs the tekton site so that seems a little strange. I bought my set for $105 last night though, I was not able to see the home depot price then though so I could not see if they both moved

Oh no! The Tekton's are Halder's. I love Halders, now I need a set damn it! :ROFLMAO:

But I want the Halder name on mine unless the Tekton's get cheaper lol.

What are those used for?
In my experience, drop mallets are used in tight places and in situations where precise, controlled force is needed. You'll typically see them in cabinet shops and facilities performing precision machine assembly. They can provide just the amount of impact needed, without the risk of marred surfaces.

Worth a shot, thank you.

If you like Halder tools, these are also made by Halder and ~25% off
Tekton branded Halder Ferroplex Combi Hammer 2 pack 21 and 28 oz.

Also as noted looks like home depot and amazon have some price matching here:

From the quantities in warehouse, it looks like HomeDepot just went all in on Tekton. Great to see their availability expanding. Will still miss seeing them in the local Meijer grocery stores.

Remember when I said that? I just got UPS notification the set is arriving tomorrow. It was drop shipped by Halder.

I don’t have these Halders but I do use various pieces of brass round stock of similar dimensions for similar purposes. They have minimal rebound by nature of density, non-marring to steel, and can be beat on and used as a punches which is how they get used more than anything. In my world, I’d probably find myself using these in a similar way, as non-marring punches more than as handleless hammers. But really, anything I’d normally persuade with my fist, these would work well. I could see them being a valuable tool in woodcraft and finish carpentry.
