Snap on makes them. I think you need a 3/4" drive for the 1" hex though.

Who makes a LARGE Allen socket set? I'm looking for something in the range of 3/8 up to and including 1". Any leads?

Snap=On has them but I don't think they go to one inch. The biggest one I have are 5/8 amd 19mm

I bought a set of craftsmans a couple of years ago. It was a set of four 17, 19, 5/8, 3/4. Have used them on impacts and never had an issue. They were pretty cheap too.

or if you're cheap ( like me) grab a 3/4 dr impact socket, and pick up a long handle allen wrench in the sizes you need, cut to length.

Yeah, I was going to say why not make your own if you have a welder. I think "gmonkee" posted a fabrication of those here somewhere. I bought some cheap sockets at a garage sale and plan to do just that. :)

The only drawback to welding chrome is that chromium in a gas state is deadly so you'll need to wear a chemical mask.

ive always had really bad luck anywhere high heat and allen bits are concerned.

i wouldnt weld a bit into a socket. all my larger sizes were stuck in the sockets with some silicone and left set up overnight

check out vim tools for allen sockets on the budget too. i have a couple sets of various lengths and brands ranging from usa tool trucks, import (asian and german), and even stuff i make by cutting up allen keys and jb-quick welding it into a socket.
