I've been on a 4/10 shift for a few years now, and it's generally good. Makes for long days if there isn't much to do, but the 3 day weekends every weekend are good. Won't have to worry about that after December.

I had to install a new light by the back door.
Dusk to dawn, with motion sensing.
The previous one died.
They sure don't last very long, the previous one was only 4 or 5 years old.

I changed the spark plugs in the Solstice.
The old ones were still gapped within tolerance, so they probably were still ok.
But..... it's good to know the plugs in the car will outlast me, LOL!

Got a new license plate frame for the Hummer, because she likes to drink gasoline.

Repaired the plastic tray on my rolling creeper seat with what I had sitting around.
I mis-stepped on the tray years ago and broke it.
It finally got to bothering me enough that I did something to fix the damage.

I attended the Auto Rod Technologies Car Show & Open House in New Troy, MI. a couple of Saturdays ago with the Vega.

Any idea what the dots are for?

The dots are for 3D scanning.
"3D scanning dots (also known as alignment markers or target dots) act as fixed reference points that help the scanner track its position and stitch individual frames together in 3D space. [1, 2, 3]

How Marker Tracking Works

• • Reference Map: The scanner's built-in cameras search for a minimum number of visible dots (usually at least 4 to 5) in every frame to understand where it is relative to the object. [1, 2, 3]
  • Stitching Scans: As you move the device, the software recognizes the unique spatial layout of the dots and aligns overlapping captures into a unified point cloud. [1, 2]
  • Preventing Tracking Loss: Dots prevent the scanner from getting "lost" when scanning uniform surfaces, repetitive patterns, or featureless areas with no distinct geometry. [1]"

I assembled a puzzle table for Donna.
My concern after assembly was how to keep Gizmo & Boots off of it.

So I thought maybe leaving it in the tilted position would keep them off it.

It did keep them off the surface, but Gizmo decided he fit nicely in one on of the pullout drawers the were accessable with the table tilted up.

I had to replace the glove box latch on the Hummer.
Turns out they fail often enough that there are aftermarket replacement latches available.

Got to working on the backup camera installation on the Solstice.
This was the 1st version of the camera holding bracket, but I couldn't get the camera to tilt down far enough using it with a license plate frame.

The 2nd version was using another provided bracket, & fastening it directly to the license plate frame.
I'll have to do something about the washers & rivets in the future, as it bothers me how they stand out against the black frame.

I did use a black paint pen on the rivet heads, so it's looking somewhat better now.

The Solstice has poor rear visibility when you are backing up with the top up.
The side mirrors are tiny, and the top itself makes for huge blind spots.
For me in that car it's necessary.

Nice work on the camera. I’ve been known to spray paint bolts and screws but a paint pen or even a sharpie would work. Nice looking camera set up and even without the trailer I bet it’s a challenge backing up.

Cats look happy so their servants are doing well.

Good job on the backup camera I really appreciate the one on my truck. It sure comes in handy. Those locks were quite the goody bag treat, usually around here it’s stickers and coupons and crappy free samples of armor all!
