I'm looking to get my brother a charger for Christmas and would like to stay in the $50 to $100 range. I would like to get him one with a 100amp booster and a 2amp trickle charger with maintainer.

What are the better models in this price range?

Depending on your bothers "tech" level, you might want to get a smaller, but reliable analog, nothing fancy type charger. Several recent threads people have asked for a charger with the high amperage starting function, but I don't think they in actual fact will do much compared to even a TINY booster battery system.

I'd be looking for a sale and a long warranty.

Check your local pawn shop, I gave $25 for my Schumacher with 200 amp starter mode. It had a spade connector loose, but looked brand new.

How are you liking the charger? I ordered one but haven't picked it up. I was thinking about picking up a cheap smart charger too. This big one should be nice to use for rust removal and also for when I forget to turn the dome light off in my car.

That's a heck of a good tips.
Thanks

I just wish I would do a better job of looking up online coupons before I go out and buy stuff (sears had a nice one the other day).
