Do you know … the double chevron logo on the radiator (bonnet?) is a reference to the double helical gears that were in the transmission. Apparently it was quite an accomplishment to cut them like that.

The girl child does like the drift team displays.

The army were out in force with an impressive blow up tank.

A Morgan plus 6. I liked this a lot, a little wider than usual with a great stance. A BMW 3ltr straight 6, 0-60 in 4.2.

Sunday was a wash, long awaited hospital appointment arrived for wifey so we missed the last day of the festival and the hotel, but we did manage a couple of hours walk around the Silverstone museum. It was closed to the public over the weekend but open, for free to festival goers.



We forget that most modern race circuits were originally farms then airfields with farms then race tracks last.

Would have been interesting to include a wrecked car in the museum.

Pretty interesting stuff. Do I detect that you might have been shopping for something to drive on the wide open highways on one of your 6 Saturdays per week? Might be more spendy than a boat?

I’m guessing the festival wasn’t a cheap ticket or is it a benefit of belonging to a big group for years? The museum private viewing was a nice perk.

Anyway leave the poor fella alone, he’s nearly finished paying for his tractor you lend/leased him

Maybe a crashed car or two that the drivers walked away from would be interesting, there were however hundreds of names of guys and gals that perished during the war while it was an airbase

Hi Drives
It would be great fun but I don’t think anything there was road legal or within my budget.
You’ve been to the uk, we don’t have any wide open highways, the speed cameras would have your licence before you get to where your going.

The tickets have certainly crept up over time, especially when you factor in we upgrade to premium lounge tickets and the 4 nights in a hotel. You do get a discount for early purchase,
but best of all wifey pays, because she loves the whole thing, I just tag along.
The museum was a nice perk actually, would have cost £60 for three other wise and probably not some where we would have gone.
