These are actually almost new tires. They still have the **** on them. Only concern I have is the bearings. I gave them a good shot of grease. I'm only going 11 miles at 40 MPH max. I think it will survive the trip.

FFS, the damned kids working (I use the term loosely) in the kitchen managed to tear the three-bay sink away from the wall. It was anchored with two #10 X 5" construction screws and they were pulled all the way out of the studs.

I mean, really? Are they wrestling in the sink?

I replaced the screws with 3/8" X 5" flange-head lag bolts. That should do the trick.

Got the rest of the drawers into the new storage file, got more stuff to put in the bed of the truck, more things to move out the way, as a new baby (lathe) is on the way.

Installed the first TPMS module. Effing thing wouldn't wake up. TPMS tool is acting funny. It's decided that it's only going to do Autel modules. And there are missing icons on the screen. I learned that this model expires after several years and can't be upgraded. After much cursing bought the best one from HF, that deals with most everyone's modules, factory or generic. Stupid money, but I've got ITC and happy hippo bucks. Took a nice chunk off the price. It woke the module up first go and read the pressure and temp. I'll finish the rest tomorrow.

I spent some time yesterday morning starting to strip the old paint & surface rust off the underside of the Mustang hood. I got all the raised flat surfaces down to bare metal using my 2 sanders. I had to get more 2" sanding discs so I could get all the small areas.

Put the new registration sticker on the truck and finally cleaned off the sticky goo from the failed windshield mount on the tire pressure monitor.

Then set up the device mount for the GPS and tire pressure monitor. I had to modify the mount on the TPS because it's "not quite a gopro". The hole was too small and the plastic pieces were too thick to fit in the gopro mount.

With this setup, everything is below my line of sight out of the windshield. Most of it is removed for day to day driving. I only have this up when pulling the travel trailer.

Very productive day in the shop yesterday.

Got all of the drawers of the card cabinet over from the back garage (easy access for vehicles, crappy workspace) to the basement shop (hard to access for vehicles, easy to just wander down and start working on things), and started filling them up, creating more usable space for other junk. I know that the cabinet is missing two drawers, which is why I was able to get it so cheap, and on the second day of a sale no less.

Also, the Woodruff key that had been fighting me is now removed!

I was going to just cut a new keyway for it, but as I had cut the existing key smooth and was able to remove the shaft from the apron, I now had enough access to support it and get a center punch directly where I wanted and was able to knock it out. Damn thing still managed to fight me. The grease and gunk in that slot holding it in was like Roman cement.

My AC was coming back to extend the condensation line. But I found some drip fittings and poly tube. So I told him He didn't need to come back.

It leads to a planter bed on the other side of the block wall.
I also installed a couple of strain reliefs.

Then waited for the Jungle shipment most of the day.

Put on an insulated wrap to neaten things up.
Have you ever noticed things that need to be done after you post a picture?
I need to caulk around the LB.
Or that something you live with is broken.

And only then do you fix it.

That works, I installed mine over the summer. I needed to extend my drain hose also and found they sell extension pretty cheap on amazon and I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GS9BKSSP?tag=atomicindus08-20

I did cut the extra back, but left it on for the pic to show it was plenty long enough.

The HF SCT may be helpful here. It will also remove skin if allowed to, but has better control than a flap disc on a grinder so is less likely to do so.

No ground on the '73 Marantz 2230, and it's all unbalanced connections. If I unplug the USB cable from the FM transmitter the hum goes away so I'll try shielding that next.

why not use a bluetooth adapter - does the marantz have RCA in? maybe i am misunderstanding what you are trying to do.

i was using a logitech and an esinkin, i think they are the same. both worked fine. But i replaced with newer receivers with BT built in, so i dont use them anymore.

It's not what I want to do--it's what @M.Brane wants to do. It's my assumption that he is using old FM receivers to keep in line with the vintage set-up he has.

I know my '90 Vanagon has no way to use BT.

It's a cheapy I got from Jeff's jungle probably 7 or 8 years ago now. It works pretty good considering what it is. IIRC it was around $100 back then. Better than running a bunch of wires everywhere.

A quick search of Jeff's jungle didn't show the one I have, but many that are very similar.

Measuring I'm getting 5/32, and I should have a couple of those but I'm not finding them...

OK, I searched another place and found 2 complete Craftsman combo ignition wrench sets, both had the needed 5/32 open end. Now it has a complete set of needed wrenches.

I'll put one on my list for yard sales so I can re-complete the now incomplete set.

I was actually considering cutting a 5/32 opening on the cut end of the storty, 1/2 I just added. Maybe I will...

Mr. Brane is using a 1973 Marantz system. Not much BT compatibility there.

I'm also of the generation that spent hours getting Bluetooth devices to work together, only to lose the connection halfway through whatever I was doing.

I like having the tiny ignition wrench as it makes it a little harder to twist the end of the gen tip off when tightening--which is ridiculously easy to do.

Realistically, carrying a spare gen makes more sense than carrying the gen tip wrench. I have the Big Box o' Coleman Tools when I get back from the trip.

Finished changing all the TPMS modules. All woke up with the new tool. Fiddled with the new OBD tool. Called it.
Pulled in the supposedly correct front rotor that UPS dropped off.

Right Side Wall

1. Painted and installed the 3" trim strip the full length along the right side wall. Still more to do on this wall, but its almost done.
2. Made and installed a better shelf for the double stack bolt cabinets, ( Not totally happy with it, so I might end up replacing this one too with a even better one...3rd times a charm they say..
3. Hung up a Daily Calendar dry-erase board.

3. Installed an aluminum edge trim on the new bench.
4. Replaced the thin temporary center leg with a 2x3 and painted it black to match.

5. Did a little more cleaning up and sorting thru stuff.

I have been using a friends sub compact tractor around my olace to do some landscaping, tree and weed removal etc. We went to grease it yesterday and 6 of the grease zerks had broken off flush with the pins, I was able to drive in an old Robertson bit to extract two of the broken zerks and install a new 1/4” zerk but couldn’t get any of the other ones to come out, even bought a screw a extraction set and couldn’t get them out of the pins.
So we removed the 4 pins, drilled out the hole finishing the hole with a 17/64” bit and tapped the hole with 5/16”nf tap and threaded in new 8mm zerks.
It was my first time ever using a tap, when I zoom right in on the new threads they don’t look perfect but they felt real good when I was threading in the new zerks, but again I’ve never done it before. Anyways, it was a good job done, pins are all cleaned up he is able to grease it now.
