Thought I might give a little update on my projects since I haven't posted here for a few weeks

first I have been on an Alaskan cruise for the past 2 weeks and got home late Wednesday the 16th of September so that put a kink in my progress.
I have 4 active projects in process at this time.
Today I worked on 2 of them. The redue on the Elcamino is going slow but sure and today we finished the body work on the left side of the truck and managed to get it into primer. We pulled it outside to prime so all my tools stay nice lol




Most of that work is for perfect door lines.

Next I worked on the Alemite cart. I had sand blasted the cart pieces last month and sprayed them with epoxy primer then today I did the ding removal on the 4 legs and got them ready for primer. Hoping to get color on them soon




Project #3 is the cab of my 56 ford P/U.
The back window frame is in and the cab interior is completely out. The firewall has the holes filled and is smoothed waiting on final bondo work. It had to go out of the shop today so I could move the El Camino out for priming so no progress on it this month




And the #4 project is stalling out because of my new air compressor. The Kent Moore cabinet. It needs to be sand blasted in the big box and the compressor only pushes enough air for about 5 minutes of work at a time and I only have one turret started in there so far but the guts of both turrets are in primer

Great to see you back at it. We’ve never experienced the Alaska cruise and may one day still cause the dock for the boat is only about 20 minutes from our front door. Any pics to share or were you too busy looking at all the eagles, bears and glaciers? Some days I’m lucky enough to see a few eagles flying over our house and many days in the air over puget sound cause we’ve got a couple dozen nesting in the trees close to the sound.

Just curious is the compressor issue the new compressor’s problem or a power issue on yours. Hope you get it figured out cause we all know how much you love to paint and how amazing you are in doing so.

Don, when we lived on the Olympic Peninsula we had front row seats for the Alaska cruise ship traffic. They would lay up in front our place at 3AM waiting for their berth slots in Seattle, then we would see them headed back out around 6PM later that same day.
I would have waved at you if we hadn't moved.

Well guys we went the other way. Flew into Fairbanks from Seattle spent a week traveling thru the state on bus and train stopping at different lodges owned by the Princess cruise line. Would take different tours each day as we progressed down toward Stewart where we caught the ship and floated down to Vancouver where we caught a plane home.
In my opinion the highlight of the trip was 30 miles out of Fairbanks. We rented a car and drove to a hot springs resort that had an Ice house (Chena hot springs resort) here are some shots of the Ice sculptures inside the hut

My bride and I had considered flying into Fairbanks and renting a house to see the northern lights and the world ice sculpture championships until we say that February weather there is wasaaay below zero. We might take it yet but I think Norway might be the way to see northern lights (in my opinion). We did have the hot springs on the to do list and glad to hear you and Ann liked it.

You’ve got so much on your plate you’ve always amazed me (us) so best of luck with the current projects.

puget: if that was your prior resident I’m not sure how you were motivated to move cause it looks awesome.

Drives, we bought that as a fixer-upper in 2011. It had been vacant for over 10 years. It was so overgrown you couldn't see the house from the street or the Puget Sound from the house. Did a total remodel on the inside and sold it in 2019.
