Once you get it, you got it. If they give you a problem, there's some stuff you can do to (legally) protect you and your find.

I expect picts!! :bounce:

And... the box is here!

There are a few flaws - a stuck swivel caster, chipped powder coat at bottom corner, and the glue holding the MDF base of the "heavy duty aluminum top" has failed.

Pics will come another time, right now I have to run back to work!

The only downside to this is that I just reorganized my workspace a few days ago, and have absolutely no space for the cabinet! I'll have to mothball a few Craftsman 12" units currently stacked up to make room for it.

The delivery guys couldn't find my place, but arrived timely. I called at 9:10 and was told that they would be by me at 9:30, 9:45 the latest.

I asked if they could help me up the stairs with it, and they agreed. The leading guy had to pause a little, and I felt pretty bad. Tipped them $20, but wish I had brought an extra one with me.

Overall, yeehaw. Not bad for $20.68.

crazy story. even crazier that you post about it but don't offer us pics :p

Yeah. Screw work, you have responsibilities!

That is absolutely amazing. I saw some of those $0.00 things and figured I wouldn't even bother trying. I am certainly fighting the tears now.

I hope Amazon doesn't try billing you after the fact, but it doesn't seem like they would. That being the case, and pending pics, I propose the biggest "you ****" ever!

After talking with Amazon reps, I figured that the worst that could happen is that they cancel my order, or send me a price quote, and I cancel the order.

They legally can't charge me after the fact, and if they do, the Amazon.com credit card I charged the order to only has a $400 limit that I already maxed out.

I'm discarding the packaging tonight. If they ask for the product back, I'll make a reasonable offer or send it back, but they're going to have to arrange for it to be picked up.

I wish it had been a supertank instead (been drooling over one of those for years), but I'm not one to look the deal horse in the mouth!

watch out, that horse may kick your teeth in....

nonono, I'll be good, I promise!

So now that you have your cabinet, everyone here is going to Amazon to look for $0.00 items!!!

Way to go Stuey!!!!
haha. This may have been a once in a lifetime deal. I still haven't figured out if this was a lucky deal find or a price mistake. As far as I'm concerned, I threw up as many red flags as possible by contacting Amazon several times. I can't see what else I could have done to verify that this wasn't a mistake or error.

In any case, if you do check for $0.00 prices in the future, make sure to scan the whole page. There were maybe a dozen or more different items marked at $0. Some were at the top of the page, others were below some of the 46 cent/ sub-$1 items. That's where I found the tool cabinet.

Two excuses -

1: my camera and lenses are all still stashed away in a pelican case from the weekend,

2: my workroom is a MESS. I'm still trying to make everything fit well, and it looks like a warzone.

All in all, I'm left with a Craftsman 12" intermediate chest that has no home, and a few power tool cases and tool bags without a home. Oh, and a small platform I made for the intermediate chest.

I really wish I took photos of this room along the way. I upgraded my storage a LOT over the past three years.

Someone needs to develop a Windows app that searches Amazon (or other websites) for low (or $0.00) prices.

There's a million-dollar idea, free for the taking.

You're welcome.
