I was wondering if any of you guys could tell me the best place to buy a Bed-Pak lift? I want a good price with good service to boot. I relize that the cheapest guy might not always offer good service. But if they do great! Your input is welcome on your experence.

Thanks

For the price of a 10,000 lb bendpak you could step up to a Rotary for slightly more money. Call up Frank at standard US and tell him you want the garage journal deal.

Garage Equipment gives you free shipping (at least they did when I bought mine), they were a little more expensive than other places but the others did not have free shipping, made GE Supply much cheaper in the long run. (link to GE above)

I purchased my Bend Pak from a company that gave lousy service, but in the end, it was Bend Pak that saved the day for me. I have since bought a few items from www.asedeals.com and have been very satisfied with the price and the service. If I were to buy another lift, I would purchase it from them. The one thing that I learned the hard way, is that if they say that it is a "scratch and dent sale", that those terms translate into a disaster of missing parts, and the selling dealer doesn't want to fix the problem. The customer service manager was great, but the upper level management was the problem, because they didn't want to spend the money to buy the missing parts. For this reason, if you are on an email list of a company that sends out "scratch & dent" email sales...... I suggest that you stay away. I finally got them to take back the lift that had the missing parts, and it cost me some additional money to get a new lift delivered directly from Bend Pak, and I am satisfied in the end. The only complaint that I have is that the selling dealer did say that my car would fit on the lift based on the wheel base, but with the standard tires, it barely makes it from end to end. What I really needed was the HD9XW, instead of the HD9. I am learning to live with the problem......

Wow guys thanks!

I checked www.e-autolifts.com and there price was also good, and the shipping was included... any one use them before ?

It looks to be 2580.00 seams to be the lowest number there is for a HD-9ST model ( The one I want)

Now the guy I talked to yesterday seamed to be pushing the 220 version more then the 110V version.... saying the motor will last longer?? I dont care abot lift time, and to be honest the cars I will be lifting are very small

Mustang ~ 3200 Lbs
Ranger ~ 3400 lbs
Festiva thing :) 2300 Lbs

But if the engine will burn out quicker then I will run the 220, but to be honest it's going to be Very hard to get a wire in the spot I need it. I already have 110V in that spot?

Ideas on the voltage thing are welcome

Thanks

Brian

The reason that they push the 220 volt motors, is because the 110 is a special order from the pump factory........ at least that is my bet on this being the reason. Call Bend Pak directly and see if they stock the 110 unit. If they do, then there is no issue. I would also suggest that if you have the room, consider going for the extra $$$ and getting the HD9. The extra width is nice when you have a wider car. One runway is adjustable in width, so the smaller cars will still fit on it.

I heard that. Today I made the decision to get the wider one. Measuring my 72 Chevelle tells me there would only be 6 inches of clearance on both sides of the car between the posts. That is just not acceptable to me. I have a perfect driving record but that's cutting it close way too often. LOL With the wider one, I should have 14.5 inches on each side. It's a few hundred more but seems well worth it in the long run.

I would love the larger unit, but i dont have a bunch of room to work with... I will check and see tongiht, but I'm thinking that I'm better off with the smaller unit, even if it takes a bit of time to load a car. I'm mostly into small cars anyway....

Thank you all for your input!

Rotary are hands down the best / Mohawk is very safe but slow going down / Benwill is an asian import that works well in all the shops I worked at / bendpak is marketed to homeowners and hobby guys

Rotary are quite a bit more from what I remember... and to be honest the lift might get used once a month, with a 3K lb car on it... I think a Bend Pak will last a long time under a small load like that, and only used once in a while.... tell me different if not but I thought Rotarys started at well over 3K ?

NO jackstands for me anymore! I had 2 vehicles fall/roll off of them and the first almost had me under it! :scared: I got a sneak peak at Jesus and the pleasure of getting the back end of my 63 Impala off the ground. :D

Since then, I only use wooden blocks or even cinder blocks. (although, cinderblocks might not be the greatest choice either)
