Hey guys,
I have been surfing Ebay for a couple of weeks looking for something similar. It seems that $250 would be the best I would do for a beat up hunk of junk. Maybe 4 or 500 for something simlar used.

I was shocked to see this on the SO site. A tool box for under $1000?

Crackon dealer says there are 8 in stock and $57 tax free shipping, it can be dropped shipped to my door. He won't discount the list price though. Should I keep looking or do you think it's worth it?

I need a small box to keep in my workshop in the basement where I work on model aircraft. I hate slepping up to my big rollon in the garage to get my tools.

Kind regards,
Rick

That's a pretty small box for $675. If you want the SO name and new then go for it.

If your priority is "best value" then there are better options IMHO.

Go with my option, a montezuma LA-400r. I wanted the same box but got this for the same money and lifetime warranty and made in the USA, I think it was a better option for me, and works really well and should also be water proof if I ever put in back of my truck. Here is where I got it.

That Snap On name can be addicting. I saw 2 of those within the last month on Craigslist that looked almost new. $350, I think. So I'd look around some more.

WHat about a Kennedy 11-Draw Machinist Chest?

They are probably more suitable for your Model airplane stuff. I use one for lens and telescope building.

You guys have sufficently corrupted me. I think I'm going to go with this one. It is three times the size for the same price. How are you guys liking the Montazuma brand?

I like my portable box and would buy another Montezuma again. Great quality and great shipping and price wasn't to bad on my box. I would buy from strictlytoolboxes.com as well again. I think if you read some of the other reviews people might have the box you are looking at.
