Hello what do you guys use for small multi drawer portable toolboxes. I have been looking for a toolbox to put my tools in and have some sort of organisation rather then having to look for this and that. I can't spend alot which puts most of the ball bearing chests out of the question. I went looking at toolboxes available here in New Zealand and all the decent boxes were ball bearing and out of my price range and all the most budget minded friction slide boxes just werent that great really and seemed to thin and too flimsy.

I was just wondering what you guys use I would like something with drawers and something movable but wont be too thin and wont fall apart. I have seen a 3 drawer one from Waterloo that looks decent and a 3 and 4 drawer chest from Bluepoint that looks decent but I did not see them in person so really don't know what they are like quality wise.

I have a Craftsman just like the one above, Plus I have a plastic tray in the top from another cheapo box. Too bad you can't get those. What brands can you get at a decent price? Look at the Hazet 190L. (the metal one, I think it's the L). Those are just over $100 here an a different style to consider.

I would go with a Craftsman Rally box.

The OP had said he was unable to get Craftsman in NZ. It stinks cause I have a 4 drawer one like someone had posted and its pretty good. You could possibly look into Kennedy, although I am not sure if they have what you are after.

Thanks everyone I have had a look around and out of the decent ones that are affordable down here it seems my choices are either those bluepoint boxes I posted links for earlier or the waterloo box I posted a link for. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Sorry to resusitate an old thread - William, I notice you are from NZ (welcome to the forum by the way!), have you considered SAFA? Made in Christchurch, steel seems pretty good, and they use friction slides or ball bearing slides. Their G6 or G7 chests are around the $300 mark new, and less when used. You are near enough to Auckland that you should be able to get some pretty good deals up there too.

Something like that is what I am after, but unfortunatly you can't get craftsman down here.

Anyone have any experiances with these boxes

In New Zealand I would recommend anything by SULCO or SAFA. In my experience the best you can buy. Snap on fine if you want to pay for a badge on the front of the box, but these local brands are top quality.
