Wassup? (or more formally) Hello, how are you?

So I have an intrest in garage door openers (am I the only one out there?). Very unusual right? I would say I have had this fascination since I was ...we'll say... 3? I don't know why, or what it is about them, but it's kind of become a hobby of mine. So I was wondering if anyone has any picures of older garage door openers they would like to share, or newer ones if you want to show off, and of course any that are unusual. I'll put one up of mine later, it's nothing special though, but I figure since Im asking, I might as well do it to.

Thanks!

Question,
With the openers mounted at the edges of the doors, does the door still run evenly ?
I would think that the opener pulling on one side vs. the center, would want to twist or rack the door a bit.

For doors that use torsion bar springs, the opener can be anywhere on the door and it will pull evenly because both sides are connected on a solid bar. I mounted mine close to the inside to provide more clearence in the bay with my lift.

Very interesting installation.

You're welcome, no it wasn't too hard, it came with instructions and I kept fumbling around til I got it. Danged opener cost more than the door LOL. I hooked it up and plugged it in and nothing. I'd never fooled with one before. Had to adjust the limit switches to even get it to do anything also the remote switch had to be wired in to the unit. (Correctly).

Here is my opener. Both the door and the opener are made by Hörmann. The mechanism is belt driven. The toothed kevlar belt is running soft and quiet.

I'm partial to my Liftmasters. Installing them really opened up the ceiling space, plus they're faster and quieter than the screw drives they replaced.

Thanks for adding! We don't have that brand in America, so I assume you live somewhere else... it looks very high tech. do the 4 buttons on the remote do anything, or are they to program to other doors?

That opener in the last 2 pic is blowing my mind. I like how their installed, but it amazes me they work, seems like gravity would stop that somehow...
