Ratchet Rebuilding

This may have been covered here, but I wasn't able to find it. Where can I get rebuild kits for these ratchets? They were my grandfathers and some of them are starting to slip. I would rather rebuild than replace them. Thanks!

Craftsman = 3208318

Snap-On = F720 (I'll need two)

Snap-On = S715

Snap-On = F735

That Last one is Not Rebuildable, Ill give you $40 bucks Just to get it out of your Way. Theres a Chart around here somewhere that breaks down the Kits, Someone will chime in directly.

On the old style Craftsman wrench: Years ago after Sears lost the lawsuit I took an old syle Cman ratchet in to be rebuilt and they said they no longer had parts for them. This year I lost the spring clip from an old style and when I asked if they had an old one I could get the clip from they said they had kits or them and gave me an entire new clip, from which I used only the spring clip. Possibly yours could be made to work if you take it apart and clean and oil it.

For the snap on ratchets, find a Snap on tool truck and they will rebuild it.

If I were you, I would call Snap on customer service about the Snap on ratchets. I had a few tools I needed to warranty a few weeks ago and I got excellent service when I called and talked to a customer service rep.

Slghtly OT, but how do you open that Old Cman ratchet? I picked one up in an estate sale and Im trying to open it to clean and lube the insides. I managed to open/lube the rear but not the front.

I haven't taken a close enough look at mine yet, but I assume you just push both "tabs" inward and it will release. Thanks again for the help everyone.

Put it in a vise to securely hold it, use a small set of needle nose pliers to squeeze the tabs and pull the whole gear out. You have to keep the tabs squeezed together while pulling out on the ratchet head or it won't release. It's one of the easiest ratchets I've ever taken apart or put together. Hope that helps.

I dont think there is any difference other than Teeth/handle. I just like the look of that specific Ratchet.

Well actually I have never seen a FHF80 that I remember. I don't like that handle but it would be something I would buy. I may try to hunt one down. I just didn't know they made it. Been a few years since I've physically been on a Snap-On Truck. I was going to buy an F80 but I may have to make this one first in line.

Call Snap-On customer service. They'll offer to replace the ratchets... tell them you just want rebuild kits and they'll almost certainly send them to you at no cost.
