Lava Soap???

Not really tool related, but almost. I haven't seen lava soap available anywhere in at least 5 years. I came across them recently on their internet page and found out it's still being produced in both liquid and bar form by the WD-40 company.

I was under the impression that it was not longer made and unfortunately, their website could not tell me where to purchase locally. Anyone have a chain store where they've seen this recently? I loved the liquid lava back in the day in the pump bottle. If it's been 5 years since I saw Lava for sale in bar form, it's been 15 since I've seen liquid lava.

Thanks for the help.

I have seen the bar soap at Kroger supermarket in the past year. I have not checked recently though. I have seen it at other stores around town too.

We get it by the case at the shop. I'm thinking they order it from one of the industrial suppliers, probably MSC. I also haven't seen it at a local store in bar form but it is still avalible at least.

I use the Lava bars @ home and I'm very pleased with the soap. I use Fast Orange @ the shop, but every now and then I forget to wash my hands before leaving the shop or miss a spot when scrubbing myself off. The Lava bar saves the day and gets off the rest of the grease that regular hand/bath soap can't get off.

I always keep a bar or 2 at the house. I approve.

Thanks for the help.

My Grandfather used Lava, and only Lava, in the bath. He was a better man than me. For the hands/arms it's great, but I don't think I'd want to use on the ol' family jewels.

My local NAPA still sells them, bars that is. Haven't seen any liquid type, **** was not looking for it. I bet the big box stores have it. I like Go-Jo because there is no running water in the barn.

Menards has/had carried it. I have seen it elsewhere too (cant remember where).

I think you really have to look for it at some places.

I still see it around.

I found a supplier for Boraxo powdered soap a few years ago and started using it again.
Boraxo kicks but.

Good enough for Ronald Regan

I use it every day after work, in the shower. It's definitely still around (and has been) - usually it's in with the 'regular' body/bar soap at the grocery store - not in the little automotive section most stores have (you know the one with the cheap oil that you wonder who uses).

When I was a kid at the babysitters (early 1960's), my sitters husband was a mechanic that came home for "dinner" everyday at noon. I can still see him Lavaing up before his meal, then back to work he went. I still use it.

I have a bar of Lava in my shop at all times. I live in the Chicago area and buy mine at my local Dominic's grocery store. It's great soap for scrubbing off the grime and gunk.

Snap On Nitro-Gold Fibril water activated hand cleaner is the best I've ever used. It's expensive so I only use it when I clean up to go home from work. I wish I knew who made it for Snap On.

Grandpa used it for years in his print shop and on the farm. Now I use it when I work in the garage. It seems I've picked up quite a few of his habits, even though he's been gone for 15 years. Picked up two bars at Wal-Mart a couple of months ago.
