garage-pack air system? Opinions?

Didn't find this in a search so thought I'd seek input from anyone with experience with the garage-packe compressed air system.

Saw it on speed channel one time and looks like a pretty good idea, and inexpensive.

I looked into carrying the line but copper is readily available anywhere and at lengths up to 20' (Garage Pak is cut to 9' for shipping). Use L or K copper. SD

They used that in the HorsePower Shop (PowerBlock) about 5 seasons ago. They said that they liked the system...but would they say otherwise?

Did look nice in their shop, and seems customizable after the fact.

Copper tubing manufactures use a letter code to identify the wall thickness.

On 1/2 copper tubing, K= .049, L= .040, M=.028

As the tubing sizes go up/down the letters remain the same, but the wall thickness changes.

Not sure I'd assume that... I know a lot of builders that go the absolute cheapest way possible. I'd assume M for homebuilding. M is not allowed in commercial projects and I've always used at least L for my own projects.

just bought a 10' type L copper to at Lowes for $26.97.
6 months ago, I had receipt, was $20 and i grabbed a few.

Most copper couplings or special fittings are over $2 here..

Maybe this custom system isn't much more expensive? How much is their 9' stick?

I contacted them earlier today and received an email back a little while ago containing a PDF catalog and a component price sheet in excel. This stuff is pricy but seems like it would last longer than the Garage Pak stuff since it is all powder coated aluminum piping and nickel plated brass fittings.

Pattons is a distributor. The material is made by Applied System Technologies in North Carolina.

We're looking at the 3 bay commercial deluxe package from Garage Pak, plus some other piping to get to other parts of the building, such as outlets for filling up tires and airblowers.

By the way,Garage Pak does offer 20' Lengths in the 7/8" and 1.5" sizes.

20' for 7/8" is $60.56, and 20' for 1.5" is $86.56

Also, the 1/2" 9' legnth is only $19.60. Couplers/Tees get expensive though, at $10-17 a pop...but you can easily remove them and reuse/reconfigure the system later, or try a layout and change it in the future...advantage over copper.

When its done I might be able to post some pictures, but for now its being kept personal/private, sorry. About 10 guys outside working right now on it, doing some finish work on the roof, getting interior ready for some more floor pouring (its about 16 trucks of concrete all together so we spread it over 3 different pour dates). Mechanical is next with the HVAC system, Electrical, lighting, etc.
