Title pretty much says it all. I've got a rounded off nut on a Subaru that I need to remove. My Matco spline drive wrenches are awesome for removing rounded off nuts but... it's in a hole. No way to get a wrench onto it. So I need a deep spline drive socket. 17mm.

With SK gone, who is actually making metric spline drive sockets?

Website says they got bought by Ideal and they'll be back later. No one has any stock. That counts as gone regardless of what they want to call it.

Check out sears. They have those new "universal" wrenches that are a spline drive, but they also make sockets of the same style. They are not on the website individually, but they are sold in sets at the store. They look nice and are made in Tiawan, unlike the wrenches which are China.

this shows the tool set, but you can buy just the socket sets

Anyone have that 45pc SK spline set and have some opinions on it?

Bought one when they were only $100 maybe 2 years ago, but haven't used it but maybe twice, and neither time was anything demanding or unique. Just standard hex bolts in the normal torque range.

I've seen a few S&K kits being sold on Amazon and a few other places, seems like a lot of the deep spline sockets are SAE you might check out Proto's website they have an 11/16 SAE deep spline socket which is just a bit bigger than a 17mm but might work in a pinch.

The ToolPlanet place linked to above is out of stock on all SK stuff with no estimate for re-supply.

ToolTopia still hasn't gotten back to me.
