Hi everyone!!

Long time lurker and first time poster. I'm also a first time homeowner with my first garage. My townhouse is just about a month away from completion but here's a pic of my wonderful 2 car garage.

I love cars and have been building sport compacts for the last 7 years but I've always been limited to garage space at my parents house or the carport at my apartments. I think I'll keep my garage simple for now and just finish the walls, coat the floors, and put up some shelving to accompany my small assortment of tools and air compressor.

Anyway, over the next few months, I'll post some progression pics here so stay tuned.

Oh, how about one of the car just for the hell of it? :lol_hitti

Slick car (I have a 3 hatchwagon as well, though mine's orange), that space looks good too. Post up some more pics after you get moved in.

You got a nice blank canvas to work with. Most of us pile ours up with junk before we can redo it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. The walls should be textured and painted on or around the 15th of October. Once I get completely moved in, I'll begin on the floors.

Thanks again everyone!

Looks like you will get the room you need to have quite a good time with your car! That is a CLEAN 3  !

Yeah, people are already asking me when we're going to have install days for springs, headers, exhausts, etc. Haha.

Mazdas rule nice garage and great looking 3

I drive a speed 6

Nice MS6!!! I really like that car and definitely that color. A friend of mine has a silver MS6 with the MS intake and boost cut defender and it really wakes up the car. They have a hard time keeping up with the MS3's though.

Nice looking house and garage.
How will working on cars go along with the neighbours that close?
Over here, I know it would cause probs...??

When I moved in my current house in May the garage became the staging area for what we put and where in the house. Just don't do what I did and wait 5 months to finally get it cleaned up enough to start the makeover. For the past two weeks i have been going through the last few things and have finally started on what should have been started several months ago. Good luck with the new place.

No big updates as of yet. I closed last Friday (10/19) and I've just been in the process of painting the first floor(I hate boring white walls). This weekend begins the official move in of most of my stuff. I'm getting all new furniture so I don't really have much to bring over from my 1 bedroom apt to a 3 bedroom townhouse.

Between when I put a down payment on the house and when I closed, the garage floor was trounced on. Looked like they rolled in a small bobcat with forklifts to drop off the dishwasher and stove. There are a few long cracks in the cement which the builder agreed to fill. So I decided to go ahead and use the garage as staging for moving things in and painting.

I painted the molding at my parents house and here it is all bundled up along with the paint. I really wanted to put crown molding in the garage but that **** is EXPENSIVE. I'll do it sometime next year.

Also backed the car into the garage and was really happy with the amount of space I have. There is about 5' behind the car and 2.5' in front.

As for working on cars and the neighbors, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Hahaha. I don't think it will be too bad. All the cars I work on are daily drivers so most of the installs would be suspension, intakes, exhausts, headers, and car audio. Nothing that involves a lot of banging. I do have a 5gal air compressor and air tools but I only use it on suspension installs.

Nice, very nice...thanks for the progress report.

Crown molding in the garage, ay? Sounds like you've got some nice plans in your head for the garage...subscribed. :)

BTW, MZ3 looks schweet!

Stay on top of the builder. They are all rush rush rush to get to closing. When they get their check they have mentally checked out of the deal. Don't let days turn into several weeks. Dude save your chair rail for the dining room. :spit:

Those curbs make me angry - No doubt they'll be unpopular with your lowered cars.

Congrats on moving up!
