I can't lift anything more than 10 lbs for 2 months. This means push, pulling whatever. I rig nothing. I got out of the house for a few minutes today to see my dog. I shot the video while I was out at the garage with my camera.

Just giving you a little ribbing... I just wanted to see the duralast video of it on the chair.

My son has that one on his video camera. I'll get him to get it downloaded tonight. Couldn't remember which one it was. Demerol:headscrat

If i remember right, when i showed my box on the show your toolbox thread someone immediatly said, duralast tools ****. Ive always thought they were pretty damn good since i first got mine a couple years ago or so. I have the 3/8, flex 3/8, stubby 3/8, comfort 3/8, flex 1/4, comfort 1/2. Ive used them all, and have had zero issues. Sure, i dont use them everyday, but once i finish my auto tech degree and start work in a shop again, they will see everyday use. Thanks mr. holeshot for giving the brand a chance. and also, good luck!

I appreciate quality no matter where it comes from. I like it more when quality comes at a resonalble price. Most people will talk **** about something they know nothing about. I thought it would be just another crappy ratchet and decided to prove it. I couldn't have been more wrong. Sometimes I like being wrong.

Good to hear you up and about. When the time is right we need more "shootouts"!

Good review holeshot.
Shows that Chinese made ratchets can be of very good quality for the money.

Take it easy and before long you will be up and about, wrenching on a car project.

Yes, you are remembering correctly. I think I might even have piped up to point out how rude that was.

mhs, was that $19.99 a sale price? Even though I don't NEED another ratchet, I was in AutoZone yesterday with the intention of picking up one of those ratchets, but they were $29.99. :wtf: Had to pass.

i bought that set 2 summers ago..back then it sold for 99.99, but i worked there so i got it cheaper. the sets they have now that are like that are in a grey box, and are cheap looking. idk if its the same one, but thats what thye got at the store now. i might see if they are different part numbers, if so, i will be ordering another set.

Might have been put back on the wrong hanger in the store. That happens sometimes. They are $19.99 for the standard 3/8 inch drive. Go back and have the guy scan it for you just to be sure.

Just picked one up this afternoon on my way home from class...15.99 + tax. That's the everyday price at my location the guy said. I must say, it's definitely got a good 'feel' about it, and I am eager to test it out on a couple small projects this weekend.

He also said that he wished they would stop carrying all the other **** brands and just focus on Duralast, said they can't keep a lot of the product on the shelf. As it was, my 3/8 ratchet I picked up was the last one left hanging.

Sorry to bring up an older thread here but I just wanted to say thank you to mrholeshot. I have been looking for an inexpensive 3/8" ratchet to pick up. I did quite a bit of reading through the forum and went out and picked up the 3/8" Duralast ratchet at AutoZone.

Most of my tools are actually at my parents house because I live in an apartment. I leave them there because it's where I work on my vehicles and so forth. Well I have a couple carry around boxes at the apartment with some 3/8" sockets, but never did pick up an extra ratchet to go with them. Until now

I may even pick up a 1/2" ratchet and carry it to work, just to see how it does. Working in a shipyard my tools see serious abuse, even though I try my best to keep them in good shape and rust free.

If you use the ratchet at a shipyard, you will have to report back about its durability over time. That would be a very interesting review!

I'll have to do that, make a little write up. Obviously it'll take a little bit of time, but not to long with all that salt water, lol.

I have a set of Craftsman ratcheting box wrenches at work. I figured they would be alright for a little while, without having to oil them and what not. Well within a couple weeks they starting to show some rust. At the same time we have a lot of SK and Proto tools, that you can just tell have some age of them, without a lick of rust.

What kind of work do you do at the yard, if you don't mind saying?

Sounds like if you are using tools in an environment like that, you might have plenty to share here with us. Time to start becoming more active on here!

I am a shipfitter, don't turn a ratchet all the time. But I do use them quite a bit when certain jobs come up.

Haha, I had to read your post again. The first time, I thought you said "I am a shoplifter". :eek7:
