Some vise grip sets were on sale too,I got the two-pack of 9SP clamps with the rubber tips,I think they were $23,down from $33.
I think they had a 2-pack of the regular vise grips with the rubber grips,and the small 6SP clamps were on sale
The one I go to still has a bunch of NOS made in USA stuff on the shelf so I was ok.....

I was at Lowe's yesterday and noticed they still had a few sets on the shelves. I nearly picked one up, then decided "how many of these do I really need?" I've got one set at work, and I suspect that's all I really need. I've got to be careful to keep my "hoarder gene" in check at times.
Same here. Was not familiar with them before the deal, but picked up a set. Have used them several times now.....very nice & grippy.
Does anyone have the Witte beechwood handles? Just curious how everyone likes them.
Witte sold at walmart??? WTF? That's not a bad price though at $5 a driver and it would look great in a garage or woodworking shed. I'm going to bookmark that link and may end up getting it
By the way, felo also makes two different 5 piece wood handled sets. The main difference as far as I can tell is the shape of the wood handle. One set is priced at like $25 on amazon and the other is like $35 plus shipping. I think I'd prefer the handle style of the more expensive one if I were to choose between the two.
Speaking of walmart, I noticed that the 94 piece channellock socket set is on clearance for $30 plus free shipping to the local walmart. I really don't know what the quality of these are like and they are imported from either china or taiwan but they have a lifetime warranty for what that's worth. If anyone knows if this set is decent or not for the price please share...

I have them. I bought them specifically for use on my [wooden] boat so I wasn't always getting sanding dust in my automotive-use drivers. For the $15 or so I paid (amazon), I'm perfectly happy, but they aren't anything special.
The tips seem to be pretty good - certainly compared to standard Craftsman or the like - but the handles weren't finished all that well. I decided to put a few coats of Interlux varnish on them before the first use. This might have its own drawbacks for some though, because now the handles are quite smooth.
Also, it sure looks like this same driver is sold by a bunch of different tool companies (some with different handle shapes), so if you want them I'd check prices on all the others.

I know having a finish on a wood handled tool can help protect it but functionality wise, it is actually better if it is unfinished. I have a marshalltown golden stainless trowel with a curved wood handle for example. Its wood handle has absolutely no finish on it whatsoever and I actually like that. It really helps 'stick' to your hand when in use compared to a smooth slick plastic-like finish applied on a wood product. Having no finish on it makes it feel slightly softer on your hand too. Just FYI based on my experience...

went to walmart and scored the stanley tool box with 122 piece tools deal for 50!... they had 4 left and i took 2! so there 2 more left in the kearny nj walmart if anyone wants..

I was at lowes today and scored this irwin drill bit set. it had drillbits and screwdriver bits and a toolbag for 14.99 it was reg 44.99 and all the stuff individually was an 80.00 value. ive been needing some new bits. it wasnt in the tool section it was kind of on a random isle.

For the Canucks: PEAVEY MART is having an awesome sale - specifically, they have metal storage lockers on for $159.99. They are SUPER deep (20") and double doored. The metal is THIN, but bent on edges and rough-powdercoated which makes them reasonably durable (nothing like them "safes" Olsen has!). I picked one up for my paints and flammable materials (finally!):

I ordered the 1/4-inch Impact Driver ($64.99) but they sent the Drill/Light set instead. I decided to keep the drill and they're sending the driver for the same total price. I'll have four batteries that way. To give you an idea of size, the Flex drill compared to a B&D 18v Ni-Cad. I wasn't interested in the light but now that I see it, it's pretty neat for working under the car and not having a cord under the creeper wheels.

I know that Flex is a German company but all of the past reviews of the driver on this site have said it was made in Taiwan? Does it actually say made in Germany on it?
