How to find MEGA Discounts via Amazon:

Step 1: search for an item or brand
Step 2: Pick a product category (tools & home improvement, NOT Industrial supplies)
Step 3: Click the "Amazon Prime" or "Super Saver Shipping" elligible link
Step 4: Click "70% off or more" under the "discount" tab
Step 5: Buy, Buy, Buy
Step 6: Log onto Garage Journal and share the deal with the rest of us =)

OR

Use my customized mega-tool-deal-finding Amazon search over at my ToolGuyd blog.

I will continue to post random deal finds at the end of this thread, but usually describe them in more detail in the tool deal/sale section of my tool blog.

Now, all I need are for ppl to take an extra 10 seconds after creating a deal thread to post a link to it here. If not, I'm sure I'll catch most deals. =)

Love MSC. They used to be just down the road from me, so my friend and I used to walk in when we were in HS and get weird items. They've since closed the walk in and moved their works about 10 minutes away, so now it's a party shop or something. It was nice going in and picking up what I wanted, no account.

Amazing to see how they grew.

Remind me, does one bulk purchase of an item could as "one item". So say, 25 abrasive pads, count as 1 item? Or maybe it's time for more Durham cabinets:rocker:
It's 5 'unique' items. I think I mentioned a few tips about this as part of a DealGuyd post.

Edit: Yep, here it is. I suggested checking out page 1945 in the main catalog for fillers - plenty of 21 cent items. At the time, I could not find anything cheaper.

Thanks I've had some sockets and a roll cart in my Sears shopping cart for a couple of weeks. I missed the 10% 6pm to 6am on the 7th and thought I screwed myself as I would have saved 47.00 dollars. Now I just placed my order and saved 94.00 dollars. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, I just posted a comment on TG, as well.

I don't really see more sale prices than normal and when you add stuff to your cart nothing happens either. Tried the latter with tappet wrenches (the set with the bonus wrench) and a couple of torque wrenches...

Can you be more specific? What items are you trying to add?

nevermind i see what they've done. they've already marked down the certain things they are discounting; nothing is taken off in the cart. It's definitely not all the mechanics tools though, like pliers and lift equipment, for example, you wont save anything there. Theyre listed as mechanics tools but no discount is given.

Alot of the "savings" are the same prices they've been running for the last few weeks.

The 3 pc Cman pry bar set $40 is on sale for $20 now thru the weekend. If I order with20% 0ff code will I get discount on the $20 price? ( sorta double dipping)

Maybe you did not see my post, right above yours. There is no 20% off "code," the sale price is what you pay, no additional savings will be taken off in the cart for anything. If its not marked down 20% then it's not going to be, unless they change something later on today. "All mechanics tools" does not mean all mechanics tools.

I saw the comment and responded.

It seems that this is just another case of "we'll say what we want to say, but good luck finding items eligible for the discount."

Deep offset wrench sets are discounted, but crowsfeet are not. The in-store roto ratchets are discounted, the online-only versions are not. :lol_hitti:lol_hitti

My advice would be hold off for Presidents' Day sales, or the upcoming Cman Club promos.

Thanks Bo, So if you bring up an item if it shows discount thats what you pay? If it doesn`t show discount there is none?

The 20% off mech. tools makes a good head line , I guess :( :headscrat

I sent Sears an email on the confussion eariler today. Just got a reply that list alot of things included in sale. Said auto test equip, auto lift equip, yes pliers, sockets, ratchets, wrenches and on & on. Stuff doesn`t show up on sale for me. Jeeeeez do they have a clue and they wonder why retail sales are down.

I found pliers, adjustable wrenches, sockets, wrenches, ratchets, and other sorts of mechanics' tools that were NOT on sale either.

Unfortunately, this type of sale discrepancy occurs frequently with Sears.

I reformatted the first post a bit - is it easier to read and navigate now? Any suggestions for greater readability?

Expired deal or deal-discussion links will either be moved to the 2nd post, or deleted if they are of little reference value.

Is craftsman coming out with a paper calender again this year with coupons? Has anybody heard anything?
It looks like they decided to offer their calendar electronically. Meaning, no coupons, as far as I can tell. *grumble*

I keep checking to see if there are any "exclusive" coupons, but there haven't been any.

I was at Sears tonight and they were marking down a lot of their Holiday and other clearance items to 75% off. Below are the items I saw with the prices as best as I can remember. Sorry no links, most are already off of the Sears website.
-The Commemorative tins with screwdrivers in them...$3
-7 pc Gearwrench set with ratcheting screwdriver...$15 (I bought three of the fours sets left.)
-C3 Remote Control Truck... $18 (It started at over 60.)
-Bosch 10.8 Impact Driver... $46
-They were also marking down the Craftsman aluminum mugs and thermoses...I think the mugs were around $2

The Sears I go to is small so the clearnace items tend to hang around for a long time. My guess that these items would already be gone at a busy mall store.
