So a combination of snow, alcohol, and clutter-reduction promtped me to make better use of one corner of my shop. I have 2 old snapper push mowers, and after adding a bandsaw (see earlier thread here), I really only had room for one. Gratuitous amounts of Coors and a lonely stack of 2x pine prompted the construction of the item below:

Finished construction - It's 2x4 and 2x6, some of which is old/reclaimed/junk.

After some wood filer, paint, stain, and semi-gloss poly, we get this:

And the item in question put to good use:

Thanks for looking!

Thank YOU for the memories. When I was young my father built the same type of stand only double the width. Every spring we would wheel the snowblower back up to the top and sit the plow next to it and the mowers would re-gain their spot underneath. And so it went for many years until we moved. Very nice stand and again, thanks for the memories!

Nice job.
Is that a Delta or Rockwell bandsaw in the background?

Delta used to make some nice stuff.
I rebuilt a Rockwell/Delta belt & disk sander (for metal) back in 2003.
The base is almost the same as your saw.
Post up some pics of the saw when you are done re-doing it.

cnc-me - It's a rockwell, 81 model, but Mr. Whyt beat me to the punch there. I'll post progress pics as I go. Since I posted the thread, I've done some setup and alignment work, but haven't replaced any parts. The base and all the cast iron parts are in pretty good shape, but I'll probaby repaint the wheel covers and try to find a matching set of knobs. It's going to be a user, not a museum restoration, but I'll definitely clean it up some more.

Thanks for the comments. I'm now thinking of ways to incorporate a compressor into the mix. :headscrat Maybe it can go under something else...
