Thinking outside the box

Well it's been awhile since I've been on here. Don't want to wear out my welcome :) It's been a slow winder for snow up here in Newfoundland plus I had a few weeks off during the holidays so I decided to build a storage box up in the front where the weights would normally hang on my Kubota tractor.

Well as I got going at it I decided to add a few other items to it such as cornering LED quad strobe lights, Stainless steel locking latch, Gas shock for the lid, Machined hinges with grease ******* and It was built out of 3/16th steel. I wanted the latch to the side of the unit for easy access.

The bottom is complete as well and could act as a skid pan if need be. I also wanted to fabricate grill guards for the LED lights. It weighs in at almost 60 lbs.
There were a few challenges such as the grill guard and how I was going to integrate the box around that but I did it and I just got it installed so I figured Id show it to you. I also did a video of the project as well.

Thanks everyone. Glad you enjoyed seeing the storage box and I appreciate all your comments. Sparkfarmer your right about the grinder. You can't kill those things plus you get a three year warranty with them. The best deal out there

Here's a few photo's of a PTO guard I built for the rear PTO of the tractor. It didn't come with one so I decided to build it. Thanks again everyone.

Looks great and functional. How are you making your stickers. Gives it the finishing touches, very nice.

Thanks. I design them and then I get a local graphics company to digitally print them. Some of the ones you see in my collection I've air brushed. Thanks, Glad you liked the storage unit.

Wow South Africa! Now that is soooo coool! Thank you for your kind words on my work. I have a small business doing vehicle repairs and a few other things that seem to find it's way through our doors. The business only has two employees who happen to be me and my wife. She does the hard work (the office) and I do the repairs and everything else.

Here's a few photos of how it looks around my shop. I'm not a robot but wish I was sometimes with all the long hours I work. Thank you very much for posting. Cheers from Newfoundland, Canada

Super nice job, Kubota would be proud.
No front tow hooks, or are they underneath?

Thanks. The Kioti Killer happened because I almost had a Kioti tractor purchased and Kubota killed the sale so that's why the decal :bounce:

The blade was off my old pick up and I adapted it to fit the tractor. I also did a small mod on the bucket amongst other mods. Here's a few links just in case you wanted to see what was done.

wow!!!!!! Awesome work!

Thank you very much. Nice of you to say so :)

For anyone who enjoys custom stuff on tractors. Here's a few more I did and if you own a tractor it may give you a few ideas. I apologize to those who find this as interesting as watching paint dry :headscrat

Thanks but to much time on my hands I don't have. I work Monday to Friday 12-14 hours a day working for customers doing things they need done. When the weekend arrives I get to do some of the things I would like to do and I do it. Although I enjoy my work week, I love my weekends. Thanks for posting.
