Being lazy, and always looking to make things work, the way i want them to work, hand cranking the snowblower chute left and right just had to go.

Yes i could have bought a new snowblower with this feature, but honestly, this 20 yo machine work perfect and looks and feels like it is made much more sturdy than the **** they sell at the depot.

So with a cheap 12 cordless drill, and little time we have a powered chute. It can me removed in under 2 minutes and the full stock manual crank put back on.

Next up is the up and down deflector.

Sorry about the crappy video.

I have this same Snow Blower. I don't mind cranking it back and forth as much as tipping the deflector up and down. I can't wait to see what you do with that. I was thinking of making a bracket for it to use a choke cable and spring somehow to tip it.

Hi there, thanks for posting such an interesting mod.
I got an 'old' Toro 726 about 35 yrs ago and have used it every winter up here in Alberta Canada. Recently began thinking about the chute control mechanism and found your entry of some years ago. Is there some kind of switching setup to control the cordless drill from the main panel of the Snowblower?? other pics that I might have missed??
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks!!
