He is getting into woodworking and I am getting out of it. I was trying to sell a kreg jig which sells for 139 and had an extra drill guide that is 32 dollars. I used it to build a router table, but other than that nothing.

It's been sitting for a year collecting dust and I didn't plan on using it again. I was contacted by a guy that asked if I wanted to trade some wrenches for it. I said sure. Figured selling it used I might get 100 to 120 out of it.

He offered me a 7 piece set of SAE gearwrench with the pivot head and a 7 piece set of metric with pivot head. He also threw in 8 stanley screwdrivers, which I am sure aren't worth much. The wrenches look brand new and like they have never been used.

I know it all depends on how I feel about it and I am happy with it, but do you guys think it was a good trade?

He is also wanting to trade a few of my hand planes for a brand new craftsman pnuematic impact gun, a right angle pnuematic gun and a pnuematic grinder. The planes are worth about 100 dollars together. Does that sound fair? I don't know what his stuff would be worth. I don't want to rip him off and I don't want ripped off. This first trade was a great experience with what seems like an honest guy.

He lives in Dallas and his dad lives in the same town as me so we are going through is dad so neither of us feel like we may get taken by the other. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Money, and other peoples opinions don't matter.
If you have stuff you're not gonna use, and he's got stuff he's not gonna use, Puts a smile on both faces. Do it.
$$$ aint everything.

In gear wrench brand, sounds like you got about 110 dollars at good sale prices for your probably 100 dollars items.
Nobody won, nobody lost. Sounds fair, and I have those sets of Gearwrench and they are my go-to wrenches most of the time.

I would try to run a tighter deal on the other items, as they are more common on CL, while your items are less common.

If both of you walk away with no regrets it's a good deal

my thoughts exactly.

sometimes a come out a little ahead in a trade, sometime you looses a little,
it all evens out in the end.
and everybody is happy. :bounce:

I have made many a trade that had no monetary component to it at all. If I have something he wants, and he has something I want, and we both agree to swap, then the world is right.
