MTS, thank you for actually responding to individuals I hope you take can also in turn absorb customer's input. That said you have to realize it is statements like "We have expanded our product lines and..........are now made in China" We know that companies import for reasons other than they are producing so much that they simply can not keep up with producing enough product here. You have to understand that tools are considered with thoughts of strength and reliabilty, and that more often than not is not found in cheaper, imported materials. Im sure you can understand why some would be frustrated.

On behalf of Mechanic's Time Savers, I wanted to thank each of you for your kind responses and understanding. Our day had started out "uh-oh...cr*p" and ended with "Wow!". We appreciate the passion and principles that real people still value.

And now, by popular demand...at least from 2 or 3 of you...

How would we offer you a discount? Where do we offer it? Do we offer it to just those that responded to this post or everyone at GJ? AND, is it legal (within the GJ rules) to offer a discount / promo on GJ?

Heres a few of mine, I need a short green one. I have not been able to find one online anywhere. I like these much more than the hansen style trays.
I can fix anything:
Go to http://www.timesavershop.com which is also needing an update. It will have all of the Caddys with all the colors, sizes and dimensions that we make. Call us if you have any questions. It has all our contact info there also. Thanks.

STEPHENW:
??? - I just wanted to include you, but I didn't get the whole post.

I said that I only saw the USA flag on the home page of your site and didn't see a page that stated where the tools were made. Then I noticed the warranty page and deleted my post.

I wanted to say thank you for being a stand up company, and if I haven't bought from you in the past I surely will in the future because you took the time to address your customers in person and I greatly appreciate that time and effort. Thanks being standup and an american company. Actually I have the lock a socket sets I bought about 12 of them from sears... Never knew who made them, hahaha, now I know. Top notch product actually.

I just started buying MTS products. I have a couple caddy's and just received the 20" tray yesterday that I found online that is actually discontinued. It is very heavy and good quality. I am waiting on the plier organizer I also ordered that is discontinued. Can't wait to get the plier drawer straightened out. Found both while searching online for a better deal than what I can get them off the truck for.

Do you make the "Lock-A-Socket" socket holders for "Hazet" + "Gedore" ?

While I think it's great someone from the company responded, I think about a 1/3 of the people in this thread were assholes before having all the information. Further, the way I see it, I don't think a company has any obligation to respond to a thread on the internet.

Lastly, I'm guessing one of the reasons MTS has had to import from China is because there are a bunch of cheap people out there who even if they want quality, won't pay the price for it and at some point company's have to compete with all the lower priced imports that Americans buy.

Plus as Grey Mills sort of suggests, you can get quality from Asia.

That said, I'd rather buy their US stuff because it's proven to be good. If I buy the import and it's junk, I've wasted my time.

Not much to add here, except that a company that responds to customers like this has earned me considering their products. Very impressive.

I think that is also true people are cheap now a days... I was raised with amercian values... I may not spend a lot of money on tools compared to some people on here and probably most, but I will say when I do most of it goes for american tools. That said at least the company is still here and american owned. They will get my money because the product is one of the best I have every used.

I just bought a MTS (OEM - not rebrand) of the Snap On truck. The guy had to special order it. Made in USA. I don't know what products form MTS are still made here, and maybe this was distributor stock that has been in the warehouse, but it's A1 stuff, as usual.

I got no problem with cheap. But (and I'm generalizing here - I've got no one in particular in mind here or even really this thread): I just think it's a little tiresome to hear people whine about expecting quality and not expecting to pay for it.

Stephen, thanks for coming here to explain, your products rock!

Can you tell us if any of your out-of-production items may be coming back?
We probably won't be producing the out of production models that we made in the past. If you have a question about any specific product, let us know. Call us and we can tell you if we have any in stock if you wanted 1 or 2.

If it was a custom Lock-A-Socket...it was made here in Carrollton, TX.

I saw the combo wrench rail that locks. Not a bad design. Looked pretty good in fact. It was made in China, which sort of stopped me only because I wondered if there were US versions out there. I didn't get it a chance to really put it through it's paces, but I have a perfect place where a rack like that would be useful.

I find it really funny that this company claims to be patriotic and love the USA, but didn't have any problem with putting 1-2 American injection molding technicians out of work by sending their production overseas.

I also find the excuse was given as "market pressures" by another poster (standard canned response for sending to china), yet it doesn't seem that price has changed a whole lot. If the consumers demanding lower prices was the reason, why hasn't that been reflected in the retail price?

Was MTS in enough trouble that they had need to go overseas or else fold, or is this just another case of wanting to put more money in one's own pocket, at the expense of yet another American's job... and then support a non-ally country that shows us little good will, and at the same time claiming to support the USA.

I really hope the my above comments aren't true, but I have a sneaking suspicion they are.

I have 3 of the lock a socket mag rails. I have rails from others too as I am now disabled and need something abit different then the old clip style rails. Now I loose my grip on one hand but can hang onto it with the other, tools all over the ground and I stand very upset thinking before the accident. So you see, there is a need for your items for those of us that need abit of help to try and live a normal life. I need to try all your magnetic helpers I guess, lol
Thanks, JASTECH
