Yes resoring a few Bugs and Busses.

As I am limited in ceiling height, I need the rotisserie as close to the ground and the casters are almost 6" so the extra parts allow me to get the frame 3" lower to the ground. It also brings the pans lower to work on them.

I have a question about the worm drive. It looks like you have a provision to rotate it with a ratchet on the end of the horizontal tube. Does the worm drive hold it from spinning back (or over)??

My roto has set screws that hold it in position and I absolutely would love some sort of friction device to hold it in place.

The worm is a one way drive only, the mass on the gear side cannot ever turn without the worm providing the drive. I do have the option of changing the handle and using a rat to turn it, but do not think that I would really need that.

Thanks Sarel. I've seen worm drives before but never really inquired on "how" they work.
Your rotisserie should serve you well for a lifetime as well as it is built!

Nope no bus on there, only the Bug, but it is not on there yet Will post when bolting it on there

The setup (mainly the castors) can gtake 2.4 times the weight of a Bug. The pan and body will be balanced so when rotating it should see less than 100 lbs on the wormdrive and that is rated at 1600 lbs. Overengineering anyone

Looks good, I'm going to be building one to work on pickup truck cabs, contemplating maybe just building a single sided rotisserie since it would be just a single cab and most of the weight is near the firewall.

Nice Job on the Build and Design.
Are you planning on Tying them together with a piece of Tubing/Pins?
Also, once you raise each side, maybe a set pin to hold them in position just incase a lift fails or lowers?
Looks like it works great though.

Thank ya Kcarguy. Its an easy spin as the CG is almost spot on, the safety pins will be installed next. As there is currently almost no deflection (no binding when turning full circle) the tie bar will wait a little as its not really needed with this little weight. All the casters are lockable and stay locked.
