My dealer doesnt do this but, I just learned from my other friend that there dealer charges the difference if its a warranty of a snap on tool. For example if its an "old" genuine snap on tool that cost say $20 back than and now it cost $23, he's charged the $3 difference and replace the tool. First time I heard of this and just wanted to confirm this with other dealers out there. Seems like this been happening for awhile now and my friend said that this price adjustment for warranty came from corporate. Or is it that my dealer is just eating the difference and taking care of his customers?

Makes no sense. Sounds like BS. How would you ever price adjust for inflation. That 20 dollar tool bought in 1970 may cost 60 when price adjusted for inflation. No one is going to try and figure something like that out.

The dealer should just swap out the the tool at no charge.

I thought so...thanks Chad...

Oh yeah, remember you asking about that anthem polish...it was a polish that snap on sold many years ago and discontinued it. I used it for my tool box and it was pretty good...

i would imagine SO would reimburse the dealer for the amount of whatever the equivalent off the shelf replacement is so i agree, sounds like the dealer is scamming people to make some extra money.

Snap-on does credit the dealer the cost of the new current replacement tool. The OP needs to tell his friend to contact Snap-on corporate with the name of the dealer in question.

it should not be a difference.
we get credited for the cost of a new tool when an old one is swapped out. so my socket that I bought for stock on the truck is what snap on actually gives me credit for.
1 for 1 exchange all the way around the board.
sounds like a scam to me.
