Racedeck vs Norsk (PVC)

I've read most of the posts and can't figure which one of these is better and why.

The only thing I can figure out is that the PVC has less noise when you walk on it compared to racedeck.

For those with racedeck, does it make a hollow noise when you walk on it?

Does anyone have the Norsk floor? How do you like it?

Thanks - Ed

I have said this many times here, I had my Racedeck down for several weeks when a friend came over and commented on the noise...I had NOT noticed it before he mentioned it, its really minor and I don't understand why people are concerned about it. Come on over and walk on my floor if you are really that worried.

I've had RaceDeck installed for over a year. There is no issue with noise at all for me. Yes, it sound and feels a little different than walking on concrete but it's really is a non issue. What I really like about RaceDeck is walking on it with bare feet. It's very comfortable to walk on, much more than cold concrete.

I appreciate the sound difference from bare concrete so I can tell when I drop something or something falls and I didn't know until I heard it. Its strange, but I would miss the sound with bare concrete.

My customer has it... first time I walked on it I noticed, then you forget. I spend lots of time in there with his cars as well, regularly without shoes in and out of his cars in my socks.

I just ordered Race Deck for my wifes garage. It will be free flow under the autos and snap carpet along the sides, in front and down the middle of the cars. The free flow is quiet to walk on.

would you get suspicious after ~500 free samples to the same house? ;)

That is pretty funny - To make a long story short, we once had a guy order 2 or 3 samples to about 10 houses in his area, numerous times over a 6 month period. Eventually he had enough for a 1 car garage, like 6-7 colors....Then he sends us a picture of it - :wtf:

If my garage does not have a drain in the floor, is there any advantage free-flow has over the regular Racedeck Diamond tiles?

Since I live in Florida and I pull rain-soaked cars into the garage, what is the best tile to install to help with the rain run-off? Is it better to just have the rain sit on top of the diamond tiles or filter through to the bottom of the floor (with no drain) through the free-flow?

I'm looking at RaceDeck or Swisstrax for my 3 car garage. Swisstrax being located 5 miles from my home woudl make it easy for pick up over shipping. Anyway, if a tile is damaged can it be replaced without having to pull up a huge seciton of the flooring? Also, I read on here where someone mentioned bowing in high heat. I think they said they were in Tennesee. I was wondering if maybe using free flow tiles might help elminate that issue with more room for expansion? My home is in the Palm Springs area so it gets quite warm in the summer.

Hi
We are happy to send you a free sample to review and be sure to inquire about our GJ member offers.

Also, your comment " Anyway, if a tile is damaged can it be replaced without having to pull up a huge seciton of the flooring?" I think you have been given some false info from my competitor, Our modules are very easy to pop out see this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0jPPHiIvegA
Our patent locking system and structural design are engineered to allow for expansion and contraction without buckling, when properly installed ( we'll show you how :) )

Bigfloors. No one person or competition told me it couldn't be removed. I didn't think I made that implication. When I have spoken to other companies not one has ever dissed another company or made a statement that another may be giving me false info as you assumed. They only addressed my questions on thier product. I simply wondered if it was an issue from watching the install with the interlocking tabs is all. The issue on floor bowing is posted on here as well with a Race Deck floor and the area I'm in will see temps of 120 with direct sun to the garage floor at times where it will radiate much hotter. I didn't see where anyone addressed his issue with the bowing so I wondered if a different style of tile would address high heat.

Thank you for the video on changing tiles

I have the RaceDeck floor in my 2 car garage (I like posting when people ask about RaceDeck because it gives me a chance to post pics - this is before the garage was painted). Anyway, I love it. BTW, I've replaced tiles and it's not hard to do.

I'll have to get new pics now that the garage is painted and window sills were fabricated for the windows.

Thanks. I live in the DC Metro region, so we get every kind of weather here. Brutally hot to frigid!
