Stuey,

Can you please post the Beta items with its associated model number (without links to Amazon) for the tools that have dropped in price?

Thanks,

Dave

There's probably over 100 Beta items that dropped today. Some of the more expensive socket and wrench sets also dropped.

Dave, you need to do your own searching.

With deals like this, posting model numbers or links will result in near-immediate sell-out of the 2-3 items left in stock.

Plus there are additional models/styles that drop in price than those in my cart. I simply can't link to everything that's lower in price. I mentioned PVC coated pliers since a few of those were at the top of my cart and were more worth mentioning.

Just received my shipment. Actually drop shipped from Fresno, CA into CA without sales tax. Love it!

The wrenches are Made in China. I don't care about this. They are massive and very nicely polished. I cannot see any manufacturing compromises. The package says "Made in China by Daniher" so I suspect Daniher has quite a bit of control on the Q/C aspect.

Looks like an 18-piece long pattern set (105.99)

http://www.tooltopia.com/kd-tools-81920.aspx

with a 15-piece regular length set (102.99)

http://www.tooltopia.com/gearwrench-81902.aspx

for the price of the long pattern set. That's a nice catch.

Original link: http://www.tooltopia.com/kd-tools-81920promo.aspx

Curious if this is artificially inflated compared to anywhere else, I'll check tomorrow but I'm falling asleep at the keyboard :).

I picked up the Rockwell 10 Amp Pro-Grade Reciprocating Saw and it seems like a pretty decent, sturdy tool. I couldn't find any reviews for it but it looks like Rockwell at one time made the Sears Professional 12 amp reciprocating saw which got a decent write up here http://www.popularmechanics.com/home/reviews/4258778 .

Looks to be the same saw:

I don't know much about these tools but the saw appears pretty good.

Those have been on clearance for awhile here. In many of the stores they've already switched to the newer Kobalt tools. It's just a different design their switching to.

Tooltopia also has this set. Long pattern w/ 27mm,30mm,32mm with Free metric/sae stubby set
http://www.tooltopia.com/kd-tools-81916p.aspx

Ive already got full sets of stubbys I barely use and cant think of a single reason I have ever needed 27mm,30mmor 32mm combo wrench. Maybe someone else can though
----------------------------------------------------------------
I got mine yesterday, I was a little disappointed at first, but after having time to look at them a little closer this evening, Im pretty happy with them. Hopefully they hold up well.

They are way ahead of HF wrenches, a few steps ahead of craftsmans, but not quite as nice as tool truck brands.

They are a little shorter than my cornwell long metrics, but longer than standard wrenches. Also my 23mm is about 1/8" longer than the 24mm:headscrat.

Heres some pics

Tomorrow 2-23-11 only at HF:

11 Drawer Roller Cabinet
ITEM # 67421 MANUFACTURER: US GENERAL
$169.99

linky:
http://www.harborfreight.com/11-drawer-roller-cabinet-67421.html

Serious! Have you actually seen this in person?!?!?!? This is a case where the product photographer must be amazing. The photo looks a whole lot better than the actual cabinet. I think if you are buying this to contain your stamp collection and you are not going to place more than 5 or 6 stamps in each drawer you should be ok.

Just for kicks, stroll over to your local Harbor Freight and get a cart when you walk in. Stop by the wrench section and toss enough wrench sets in to represent your tool collection, then hit the socket isle and load up with the same number of sockets you have at home . Now go find the display of this roller cabinet and toss all that stuff in the cabinet and see if you can count to ten before it crumbles.

I have 2 Harbor freight boxes the 99 dollar cart and the red cart that I paid $149 for and they are both worth the money. When I first saw this ad a couple of years ago I thought it was a good deal and then I saw it in person. Kinda like a blind date when your buddy says she has a great personality.

Sorry for the smart *** reply but please check it out in person, this is just not a good piece of equipment.

I cant find a HD near me that will accept it. Lowes wont either. Ive asked politely, Ive raised hell. Both places said no, because the products are not the same brand. ie if HF carried a bosch drill, HD would accept the coupon on a bosch drill.

I know HF carries a few name brand items and when I find myself with some extra time, I might snap a few photos of them on the shelf and then attempt to use the coupon again at HD. Just to see if I can get them to honor it.

It seems Im always in a hurry too, so I dont have time to drop the items at the counter walk out empty handed across the street to the competitor and purchase items there. Just so they know they lost a sale by not taking a competitors coupon as advertised.

no we dont... most is Milwaukee Recip saw blades and Goop and Spray paint now, wagner paint sprayer.... thats it...

I wasn't endorsing it. I merely posted the info in case someone was looking for one. Sorry if I offended you - I didn't intend to.

MN4X4 no offense I just did not want you or someone else to go to HF and buy this without examining the box closely. Sometimes they only have these boxed up and have none on display. I feel fairly confident that anyone on this forum would quickly see that this box is not worth the money if they examine it.

Well, I saw it in person and, sorry to say, I bought it!:lol_hitti

I think I paid $139 with 20% coupon. Can I live with it? For a while, I guess! Would not do it again? Not at 1/2 the price.

Funny thing, I see these on CL for $200 all the time. What's up with that?

Compared to what I have seen at Home Depot and Lowes (at $89 each), this seems like a pretty good price. Especially for two. Am I right? I still just have the one that came with the original set.

its ok...Lowes sells the 2 pack w/ charger occasionally for 99 dollars, but any local battery shop worth a **** can take the NiCad batteries, open them up, and rebuild them better than original for around 45 each..my rebuilt ones perform better than my 18v XRP Lithium battery, they hold more charge, have higher output, and last longer

Thanks for letting me know. I haven't seen that deal. Right now it's the only battery I have, so I need to expand my collection anyway- it would be annoying to stop a job to have to wait for my one battery to charge. I don't get much use out of it, but I definitely think I will if I end up buying the DeWalt 1/2" impact I've been looking at.

I guess it just depends on the store. I went to the front desk first, asked about the coupon. It took them a couple of minutes, then they said sure, but for just one item. So I bought a Werner Portable Scaffold kit, got the 20% off, and left. Scaffold cost me $79 plus tax. HF does not sell this model or brand. The only scaffold I saw at HF was $200 (better built, I just needed a simple unit).

WTF are you talking about? Go back and reread my post that you first quoted. I was simply stating that I wanted to get HD to match a coupon on something they did have, then eventually get them to honor it on other brands that HF doesnt carry.

Why dont I go to another HD?, because HF is across the street and the next nearest HD is 20 min with no traffic.

I wonder if this Beta trim removal tool, priced at nearly $60 retail (and 17.42, disc. price) is one of those "adjusted" Amazon prices?

I sent this guy an offer two days ago and he did not respond. Did you pay full aksing price or make an offer?

I paid the $27.99 shipped for 16 metric 3/8 dr. sockets. I thought it was a good deal already. I'm cheap but I'm not a bottom feeder. But then again he wouldn't put up a "best offer" if he wasn't willing to go down a few bucks.

I did the deal a few days ago and paid right away. I haven't got any updates or anything from the seller. Maybe he is on vacation? Or just lousy at comunication.

^^That's a good deal for a high quality tool. Haven't worked with that brand too much, but if I didn't have so much stuff I needed to get, I'd snap one of those up.

Sears is having a tool mega-sale again, one of the best deals I see is the 52" wide top/bottom 23 drawer roller bearing chest for 50% off, making it $999.98. If I didn't already have a 40" wide version I would be tempted.

This combo can be had for this price throughout the year. For 1k, its not worth it.
