Armstrong made the versions before the switch to the PRC made ones. Note that both the US and PRC made sets share the same part numbers.

The USA made ones are fantastic wrenches for the money. I have them in metric and SAE, as well as the offset box wrenches. Wish I had bought them sooner instead of getting by with the raised panels.

I see it showing $90?

At any rate, if you can get it new for $70 thats a fantastic deal. I've been eyeing them for a while and they never seen to drop below $85.

Ended up buying a used set in the classified section here for like $65

if you add it to your cart blue crew bucks takes another $10 off, then $5 off 50 coupons.

I'd be a bit leary of the 13pc set though since those are the ones that have gone to china. The SKU is the exact same in Sears's system so you'd be taking a chance.

Both my local stores are all switched to the new red/black china sets so if i ordered that set and did in store pickup, i'd get very expensive chinese wrenches. Oddly enough its ONLY the metric sets and only the 13pc set.

If you want USA sets gaurenteed get the 9pc set or 18pc metric/sae set in the trays. Both those are still USA CMan Pro wrenches.

9pc http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00947239000P?prdNo=8
18pc module http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00934273000P?prdNo=5

If all you want is metric get the 9pc set for 43 and buy the 7/9/19mm open stock if you think you'll actually need them.

yes, that one and the 9pc set are the Professional long pattern wrenches even though it doesnt say it in title or description. Same exact wrenches down the "professional" marque on the back side.

If that sale ends tonight, i dont see the harm in buying them anyway.

If you pick up a made in china set, see if another store has a USA set left, then exchange. and if not, return the whole thing and nothing lost...

or buy the 9pc set and get the other sizes in open stock. Not sure what this sale does to the price comparison but when i did the math some weeks ago you'd of about spent the same replacing the missing sizes with open stock vs buying the 13pc outright.

Saves you from wasting gas driving around perhaps to only ultimately return the set.

Oddly enough its ONLY the metric sets and only the 13pc set.

I imagine that metric outsells SAE by quite a large margin, so the SAE sets are probably new old stock still on the shelves. The 13pc set is probably a better deal than the 9pc set (in terms of dollars per wrench), so the 13pc set probably sells out (and gets restocked) more often than the 9pc set. Again, the 9pc set is probably new old stock.
