circuit breaker finder

I need to buy a good breaker finder. I do maintenance (in a 2-floor motel) and one of these seems like it would save a lot of steps for me. I need one that will work as far as 100 feet from the panel boxes. Does anyone have any experience with these and have used one they could recommend? I have read reviews, but seems that all of them have some negative reviews (probably from people that don't know how to use them), but i though i would come here and ask.

I got the set from Lowes...works good for me in the house
It comes with the plug-in transmitter and the hand-held you run across the breaker panel to find the breaker controlling that line

There are a few other parts..a screw-in for searching for "light sockets" and an alligator clip set for "end of the wire" searches

Also got the "voltage tester pocket pen"..it's a unit about the size of mini-mag lite...it detects any voltage on the line, from any where along the line..even through the wire insulation

what brand name did you get (i notice they carry more than one).

the breaker finder is an Ideal #61-532 and the voltage pen is a Greenlee GT-11

Mine's the basic $35 Klein from Home Depot - considering that my house was wired by Satan, it's paid for itself several times over. There's also an accessory kit for it that I should fork over the extra $10 for one of these days.

I went to Lowe's and HD, looked at all the brands in the store, then came home and looked at all the reviews online. The Klein got better reviews on working further away, so i bought the Klein since some of my rooms are nearly 100 feet from the breakers.

I have used it 3 or 4 times this week-now i wonder how i ever got along without it. 35 bucks well spent-i love it when that happens.
