Well I was lucky enough to find a sweet deal on a macsimizer, so the wife said i need to sell my snap on but not sure what its worth, any ideas? Its in pretty good shape, no extra holes or gashes in it, few little scratches normal stuff, any info is appreciated also will come with all the drawer liners if that makes a difference.

Does it also include a stainless top like the one you referenced? I'd say if you don't want to sit on it for an extended period, selling price should be something like $1,300 no top, $1,600 with the SS top. Ask a little more than what you want, so you have some wiggle room to negotiate. You can check "Completed Listings" on eBay, and check for similar boxes that sold or did not sell. Sold itmes show a price in green, unsold, the price will be red.

There are only a few recently on eBay, but the most recent, a very clean yellow one ending yesterday, failed to sell at $1,450.

I would post it on Craigs for $1250 FIRM....I bet it would sell within one month....They are still going to lo-ball you but if they show up to see it, stand firm. You will get all kinds of lo-balls via email...ignore them.

Anything over $1500 may take awhile, but that would be the max that thing would sell for. Tom

No SS top, Im glad to see the prices that I have been thinking. I posted it on craigslist for 1300 so i guess we will see. http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/tls/2337450428.html

Post all of the offers and emails you get here....Let's see if we were right!

Good luck with your sale bro

By the way, check out my garage box and the story behind how I acquired it in the link below. Not quite as nice as your box (smaller), but it is a Heritage box.....

Also, clean your box. And I'm not saying your box is dirty, but a clean box will catch someones eye fast. If you need to leave your tools in it, organize them neatly. I buy a fair number boxes and almost none are clean. Your price seems fair BTW. No room for a reseller to buy, but good value for an end user

Good luck!!

Better yet, roll it into the driveway then take your picture. You would be amazed how much better things look in "natural" light. Also take the top box off before taking the picture. You also might want to fix your measurements since you have it listed in feet instead of inches.

Good luck selling, if you were on the west coast, I would be talking to you about that box.

well first day up i had about 8 calls, and one hung up on me because i turned down his 700 offer. One guy showed up to look at it, but unfortunately the snappy is next to my macsimizer, and makes it look really small, and evidently he was looking for a huge box. he made an offer on my macsimizer tho, lol unfortunately it wasnt enough for me to part with it. We'll see what day two brings. I edited the post and dropped price to 1200 FIRM kinda tired of everyone calling and cutting my price in half.

You may want to move the Macsimizer or put a sheet over it or something. Potential buyers may lose some of their enthusiasm for the box you're selling when they see the Macsimizer....toolbox envy...:dunno:

I wouldn't get too upset. When someone makes me an offer that I don't find acceptable, I just politely decline. By the same token, just because someone has their price marked as firm, doesn't mean that I wouldn't offer a lower price, especially if their firm price is close to what I'm willing to pay. From what I've seen around here on craigslist as well as on recent ebay auctions that have actually ended up in a purchase, Snap On boxes seem to be going for about 25% to 30% of truck price in good condition. The problem is that Snap On and Matco have both been offering great deals on new stuff off the truck, including things like discounts and free riser tops, etc. Plus you can finance off the truck, unlike CL and ebay. So when you add up all those factors, the 25% to 30% pricing doesn't seem so out of line I guess. Good luck with the sale of your box, I hope you get what you want out of it.

And I wouldn't take an offer over the phone that seriously if the guy hasn't seen the box in person...:pimpflash

That's a good point, but by the same token there's no sense in me driving a couple of hours to look at a box that I might be interested in if the seller and I aren't even going to be in the same ballpark price wise. I generally offer a little lower price than I am willing to pay and judge the seller's reaction. If they counter offer with a price close to what I want to pay, then it might be worth a drive. On the other hand if they hold firm on their price or knock $50 or $100 off (on a let's say $2500 box) and I'm not willing to pay the listed price then I don't bother wasting my time and my fuel.

Agreed. You and the seller have to be somewhat in the ballpark to make it worth your while to go look at it.

Stand firm, it will sell at $1200....I see a few KRL boxes going for around 2k...some just slightly less but most are asking 2.5k or more so your price is in line I think.....Guy had a brand new (looked brand new in the pics!) Classic 78 in orange about 20 miles from my house for $1800 but when I called the next day.....it was SOLD...That was a damn good deal on that box....

Alright guys, I SOLD it. I dropped the price at 1100 when the guy offered, I wanted to stand on 1200 but haven't had as much interest as expected, so i figured i could be happy with 1100. Thanks for the help and suggestions on the CL ad.
