Been checking out lista boxes and I really like their options for different drawer configurations. Also the load rating on each drawer is quite inpressive. I have looked all over their site for pictures and no luck, just computer drawings.

The dealership supplies them to the mechanics. 30 of the 150 bays have Lista tool boxes. Strong and trouble free even when not well treated.

I like that you can design the drawer config to your design. When it is time for an upgrade I'll get a lista. Unfortuantley they don't have any green boxes. LOLLOL Won't be able to post it in the green tool **** thread. Such is life. Everything I am reading about lista puts the others in the dust. 440 lbs per drawer. Holy Lead weights Batman. Now it is time to convince the CFO of my plans. Wish me luck.

Lista offers their boxes in a wide range of colors- including green. I think they will still even do custom colors, though not for cheap.

I have them in my garage and love them- see the garage link below for pics.

More info on that yellow triple bank please

Everyone is loving the yellow!
Well, the triple bank can either be stationary or mobile, as you see in the photos. The heavy duty casters, which hold 1,200 lbs., have total lock brakes. Which means when they're locked they won't even swivel around.

All of the drawers include a mesh liner so your tools and accesories don't slide around. There's also a vierty of tops you can choose from.

The top drawer will always come with dividers and a bin organization starter kit just to give you an idea for how many ways you can divide up the drawer.

The drawers are full extension with a 440lb. capacity.

There is a variety of widths and depths you can choose from. Rather than me going into all that, here are the direct links to those pages on our site.

Are you looking for pricing?

I hope this helped, if not pelase feel free to reach out to me directly!

I'd like to know ball park pricing on the triple bay boxes

The triple banks are anywhere from $4,600 to a little over $6,000 for one.
PM me if you want to get in touch with someone. I've only been around Lista for a little over 4 months so I don't want to give you any wrong information.

Thanks for asking!

They are actually built in Holliston, Massachusetts about 30 miles from me. Check out this pic of the tripple box from the Mid-America Truck Show (a little blurry).

anybody have any issues with their Lista toolbox?? I wanna hear from guys that use their Lista boxes EVERY DAY... not just on the weekends. They look well built.. pricing seems to be on par with what a used Snap On box would cost.. (as far as the triple bank listas vs. Snap On's KRL triple bank). I've used a variety of different tool boxes.. The craftsman ones I had the drawers gave out on me.. Matco box my friend had the main drawer slide gave out.. long story short Matco guy showed up outta thin air and took the old slide from my friend and promised to find something for him. Never came back and my friend was out a drawer slide. He ended up modding a Snap on drawer slide and it lasted a couple years for every day use. We had one guy on here with a MAC tool box and had major issues with warrenty. He ended up trading his box for a Snap on one. I personally LOVE my snap on boxes. I bought them used and still paid a good amount for them but at the end of the day I am very happy with them and I'm sure they'll outlast me. After looking over (drooling) this thread I might consider a lista if one came my way.

I posted this link a couple of days ago, I visit the site now and then and noticed it had a new section.

When its time to replace mine Im going to get one.

Lista is popular with F1/Sportscar teams based in the UK and I have looked at a few over the years.

I like how you can divide the drawers your self with strips of metal, I read that one F1 mechanic was asked to organize a Lista box by the team and he went and picked up some random sheet metal from the stores and chopped it into strips to make dividers. It turned out to be something ridiculously expensive like Titanium :)

Hmm, seems to put the "Wrench's" per say to Snap-On. Wonder if they take SO trade in?

Thanks, JASTECH

The thing with tool trucks is that they will move your box if you move, thats what you're paying for... I'm pretty sure Lista doesn't have tool trucks that do that, and considering how heavy these boxes are you better be able to move them yourself or have a very stable job.

Don't get me wrong, they look like nice boxes. But when are you ever going to put 440 lbs in one of those 18" wide drawer in the triple banks? How will I ever surive with the drawers on my KRL only rated for 220 lbs.

Seems like the 72" Montezuma uses the 3 long top drawers. I think that its a great layout.

Lista boxes are used in industrial settings, drawers opened and banged shut 24/7 for years. They hold up.

Also, there's a reason the drawers are rated at 400 lbs each. You may not be able to get there with your wrenches, but those weights can be reached when you fill the drawers with lathe chucks, or cat40 tooling, fasteners, etc. etc.

From a personal perspective, I have both snap-on and lista boxes in my garage. there is no question that the Lista is a heavier-duty box.

maybe the snap on dealers you deal with will move your box for free but the dealers I deal with wont do that. Snap on tool boxes are very well put together in my opinion.. and the price reflects it. When I had to move my tool box I called a flat bed guy to move it for me. He moved my buddies box 30 miles for about $70. Its not cheap but you gotta bend over and take it. On a side note I don't care living in NJ and I have a KRL triple bank. I figure it must weigh at least 2500 lbs. loaded with tools. I say to myself everyday how am I ever gonna move this since I have no desire to state IN NJ any longer than I have to... I think my *cheapest* solution is rent a heavy duty pick up truck.. call a guy with a flatbed.. have him load up my box on the flatbed.. then angle the bed of the flatbed to the bed of the pick up and SLOWLY roll my toolbox onto the bed of the pick up. When I want to unload my toolbox (hopefully in another state) I'd have to call another flatbed and reverse the process. IF that plan didnt work I'd opt to rent a pickup truck and have to rent a pretty heavy duty trailer....

Anyway.. back on topic. Lots of good info on here.

I am now thinking of selling my MAC top, Snap-On bottom with side cabinet if I can get enough to buy one of them long bottoms. Would make it easier to load for me and my disability, I am not dead just disabled and need better access to my tools. That goes for my drill press too, need to get a varible speed w/knob.

Thanks, JASTECH

We run Lista boxes in our work units and abuse them mercilessly. The guy who finished out the last job I was on forgot to lock it and it went 400 miles with drawers banging around and you can't even tell. I was in one work unit where the drawer had roughly 150 lbs of **** in it and a 350 pound hand used the edge as a step stool with the drawer at full extension without a problem.

Only two things I can complain about are on the latching ones the latch is only on one end and the not being able to open more than one drawer per bank at a time gets old.

All you need to do is use the leg on your lift. Lift box and back right under it, lower into truck and drive away after you strap down. Reverse procedure when arriving at new shop.

Loaded many boxes like this when guys would leave to go elsewhere. Never damaged or dented a box. Just need to be careful and get the box balanced just right on that leg.

I took this picture today. this drawer holds ~60 springs, easily 350-400lbs. this Lista box is about 12 years old, normally it's on our race trailer, going from St. Pete, FL to Edmonton Canada, from Watkins Glen, NY to Long Beach, CA. I doubt a fancy SO box would survive that. note this is not the heaviest drawer, the one on the bottom holds lead weight plates, god knows how many pounds in there.

Find a box on the Snap-on site and then find the comparable box on the lista site. Check out the weight difference and the many different configurations of drawers you can get in that chassis size. Then check the price. Do your research and make your own decisions. The lista boxes are probably 40% heavier for the size and you may not like that if you have to move your box frequently, but to me the aditional weight just means stronger.

For me coming out of a manufacturing plant I have used many Lista and Vidmar boxes for tools as well as parts storage. The Lista boxes just take the abuse.

you guys bring up some real good info on Listas... I've used them before but never for storing tools. I've worked in a lot of different parts departments. Truthfully.. I have had problems with them in parts departments. Drawers not closing right.. etc etc. Maybe the ones used for storing auto parts are designed differently??? :dunno: As far as Snap on boxes not being able to take abuse?? I personally haven't seen a snap on drawer slide give out (maybe the old "vintage" ones)... I'm not saying it doesn't happen.. I just haven't seen it.

Hi there! Thanks for this great Lista recommendation
As for the one drawer opening at a time thing, this is due to our PrevenTip system. If someone actually has 400 lbs. in each drawer if they opened more than one drawer at a time they'd probably get crushed as the box tipped over. I think in the long run this is a good system but I can understand how this can be bothersome as well.
