Colorado "premier garage" info

Hi everyone--noob here so be gentle on me..I searched already and came up with 0 info on premier garage on the forum. I want to get my floor done and have been looking around here in denver.. to :
A: maybe get some help with someone who has done it before and do it myself..(epoxy-coat most likely)
B: have a company here do it-
that brings me to the problem of everyone saying they have the best product.. here on garage journal most people seem to think epoxy-coat is pretty good..

say that they have a hybrid polymer coating that outperforms EVERY epoxy out there.. makes me skeptical when people speak in absolutes.. and I haven't seen any reviews about them..

its my first new house and I want to make the garage shine so any advice is welcome.

I would recommend doing it yourself, with Epoxy-Coat. It's not that hard, other than maybe the diamond grinding. Which is not hard, it's just messy.
I did my 864 sq ft shop a year ago, and I will be doing my 500 sq ft garage next week. The garage is a new floor, so I won't have to grind it, just acid wash it & prep it.

Are you in Colorado? Where? There's a guy down the street from me having his done by someone right now. I can stop in and see how he likes it, and who's doing the work.

Derkahn - Even if it's brand new, unless you specifically asked the concrete guys not to put down a sealer, they probably put down a sealer. I was there when they poured this garage, and I told them not to put anything down, becuase I was going to epoxy it.

Did you definitely know if yours has a sealer or not? That'll make all the difference in how you prep it.

Derkhan, you'd be welcome to come watch me do the floor, but there really isn't much to it, and I'm not sure when exactly I'm going to put it down. I'm still *** deep in remodeling, landscaping, sprinkler systems, and I've got **** everywhere!

My experience is the opposite. I haven't had a concrete pour in many years that had a sealer on it, unless I asked for it.

We built in '96 and then again in '07. My dad built in '02 and added a detached garage in '09. None of our concrete was sealed (not because we asked for it that way) in any of our basement or garage floors. I was present for all pours in both of our homes and my dad's, so the lack of any sealer is one thing I'm sure of.

What will it cost you to do 500 sq. ft.??? Just trying to get a sense of cost compairson between options.

The Epoxy-Coat (with free shipping for GJ members) is $285 for standard colors. I paid $305 for smoke blue.

I talked to my neighbor last night. He used www.garagefloorcoating.com, after seeing them at the home show. He was very happy with the crew, and very happy with the results. He paid just under $3.80/sf for a 630sf job.

It looked nice, and was a rougher finish - deliberately so - than most epoxy jobs I've seen.
