that '59 belair from the last page is awesome.

the last few weeks i've been parting an '88 vw vanagon to get all the parts for free that i need for my recent purchase.

1986 turbo diesel VW transporter syncro.
i bought it in montreal in october, now completely legal thanks to the 25 yr rule.

need to rewire the whole thing, which isn't much when you compare it to anything new on the road. then sand blast and paint.

My 6.1 Hemi needed a new serpentine so I thought it was a good time to put a 25% underdrive PowerBond on the snout.

The Jetta is an ongoing project. In another year I'm pulling her off the road to give her some proper attention (rust mitigation, valve job, etc). When I first towed her home:

Pretty much how it sits now:

Not car related but a garage project...also working on a kegerator. Building a basic collar out of a 2x10 to mount on a chest freezer. This is my first wood project since I was a kid in the Boyscouts. Collar is together but I need to sand it to get it to sit flush on the freezer (the edges were a little beat up on this board but it was the only I could find at Lowes that wasn't warped). Will post of pics shortly.

Looks like an early 70's Impala, very similar to, but maybe a bit flatter in the roof than my grandmother's 68 that I should look into one of these days...

Had this almost 30 years, and it's been patiently...rusting ! Things woulda been alot better if I had a shop...http://www.gtoforum.com/f83/1969-judge-restoration-begins-32858/

there's a guy down the road from me with a 69 gto 400/4 speed. it's been sitting for at least 25 years that i know. it was in his driveway under a tree with 4 flats forever. to many people,me included, must have asked to buy it. last time i saw it he had pushed it into the woods behind his house. said he was going to restore it someday. i hate people like that.

^^^ I moved in to my current house 20 years ago. Within a week I notice a house close by with a 55' Pontiac Safari SW (red over white) sitting in the driveway. It's a nice old house and the car looks great sitting next to it. The car has never moved since the first time I saw it. I've always wanted to knock on the owner's door but I'm sure lots guys have already done that.

This Saylor-Beall rebuild I've been working on is near completion. I bought the completely disassembled pump for next to nothing. I cleaned the valves, replaced the conrod bearings, and reringed the pistons. I also heavily modified the 30gal horizontal tank, and it was adequately pressure tested. I'll do the break in and run ups tommorrow. My friend should be more than pleased with this unit.

Did some detail work on exterior of this 65' Fseries which is still ORIGINAL PAINT, but because the engine bay was starting to look a bit old decided to freshen it up a bit.
Not only original paint but all chrome, trim, glass, interior is original to truck too.

seeing as though it had added extra fuel tanks from new and getting a bit rough inside made some new ones out of aluminum to match the old ones. Total fuel capacity now well over 50 gallons. @ 13mpg it will go a long way before a refuel.

Sweet score! I'm probably preaching to the choir, but those trucks are virtually unstoppable off-road.

I do powdercoating work, but during slack times I usually work on restoring something or another. Right now I'm doing an old Honda that my father in law bought new then abandoned in a junkpile for many years.

thanks!.

i've tried but haven't been able to get it stuck yet.
i have 40 acres in the back of a cemetery across form my office that they let me rip around in.

next project for the truck is a big brake set up based on a set of 993 turbo calipers, 08 E550 front rotors, & a custom set of machined carriers.

Here's my current project. I've been replacing the tires, clutch, fluids, headlight and a few other things and having the wheels, engine side covers and a few other pieces chromed. Can anybody guess what the bike is?

Someday hopefully in the very near future, when I have a garage, I will be able to start on my project. Uncovered for the picture, it is always wrapped up tight. 1926 T body on 1931 A chassis, 1949 V8 motor, 3 speed, hydraulic brakes, etc.

1987 HONDA 750 MAGNA.you chroming the reae wheel or going to leave it stock?

oh yeah....do i win the chance to ride it?:bounce:

Winner, winner chicken dinner!

The rear wheel is getting chromed. The disc that's inserted into the rear wheel is done already. I just need to get the wheels over to the chromer to get them done and I can start putting it all back together again.

It's a 69 Caprice, I build Lowriders.

2nd that... Impala had a fast back roofline. 70 is similar.

:lol:Thanks for 2nd-ing me telling everyone what my car is

The Caprice was only available with the formal roof line, but the Impala was available with the formal roof AND as a fast back. The majority of 69 full size cars are Impalas with the formal roof line like my Caprice. While the fast back isn't "rare" it is EXTREMELY out numbered by the formal roof.
