So getting ready to do the other half of my garage floor with Epoxy, there were a few spots that were beading up water after etching so I assumed some oil contamination or coating and hit them with a grinder (not diamond but a 7 inch concrete grinder disc from Lowes) and it mad the spots smoother than they were after acid etching. Think I need to re etch these with acid to roughen them up? They feel like a finished floor now not one that's prepped for epoxy. I hate to get the floor wet again because I'll have to wait for it to dry - might make it impossible to get to this weekend. Was thinking hitting them with a sand blaster instead. What do you think?

The grinding is dependent on the grit obviously. The blasting might work, but it is usually done with shot instead of sand... I'm no pro just my opinion.

What is recommended grit when grinding the floor?
