So last minute yesterday morning, I decided to go to an auction about 50 miles away, figuring I would find something cool to follow me home. What I ended up with was a 1937 Pexto 132G Stomp Shear...for $60! Luckily they had a skid loader on site and they helped load the beast. I also purchased an engine hoist on the cheap and that came in quite handy for unloading. In a lot of misc Allen Bradly switches, I ended up with a nice 1/4HP 26" HG GE vacuum pump that I hope to sell on eBay, which in theory will allow me to break even on all my purchases. Not bad for last minute auction plans!

I hope to rebuild this one of these days, but that will have to wait as I have 999 other projects underway already.

Welcome to GJ!

That's a nice looking rebuild candidate at a good price! At least you didn't have to drag yours piece-by-piece down 5 flights of stairs and though a rabbit warren of corridors to get it loaded. :D

Here's the rebuild thread of my 1922 Pexto Model 132B:

Wow, your rebuild is extremely well done! I can only hope that mine will turn out anywhere near that nice. Thanks for the link to your rebuild.

Well, I have been a member for about a year and a half (just been casing the joint), but had to wait to make my first post until I had something that would provide sufficient **** status.

And yes, when I actually get to the rebuild, I will post the hell out of it!

wow, very nice work. Something else caught my eye... your shear is from my hometown newspaper... I've even been in that attic a time or 2 years ago. Small world!

Small world indeed!

It's funny... When I was in grade school I got a tour of that paper, including that attic, and I specifically remember that shear sitting exactly when I found it 16 years later.
